I had a 1959 Chevy Truck like this except it was blue. Had a 427 hp , 410 gear 50 inch tires on rear and would spin the length of the truck in 3rd gear, was some kind of fast. Never was beat when I race it, several times in my 20's.

That's because you never came across my 68 superbee hemi. 425 hp ( factory) God only knows the hp after I got thru spending a ton of money on it.

I raced everyone who wanted to. Gave most a head start, and still blew by them. The two lanes would turn into one lane, by third gear, and the ones who road with me ,couldn't get a 100 dollar bill taped to dashboard, when running through the gears, no matter how hard they tried.
Those modified muscle cars , big block , ton of torque were much fun.
But 6 mpg would be bad today.
I got a new muscle car , it's a true performance , twin turbos , very fast Explorer ST , gets 27 mpg highway , 23 mpg running around.
It's a blast.

Looks cool too, I seen the picture you put up of it.
Yeah my Truck with the 410 gear, was geared so low, it would suck up some gas in a hurry.

You sure no door handles? I know sometimes they are painted same color, to look like no handle. Have to look closer.

My brother had a 67 fastback identical to that one except it was purple.
The 390 under the hood would only run on Amaco 100-octane white gas.
It could outrun almost anything and could hit 140mph.
He made lots of money with it.
