A farm boy comes of age in a post nuclear apocalypse world where people drop anti-rads like we do vitamins, clean food and water command premium prices, rats and gophers are now considered livestock, there is no law outside the trading hubs but the roaming clans of mercenaries hired by farmers and ranchers to keep the mutants and raiders at bay, morality and organized religion have imploded with Christianity reverting to crusade times, the descendants of snowflakes praying to wooden MP3 players hoping their goddess Empethree will speak to them and living in the moment is what you do, because you probably won't live to old age anyway, pour into this mix a bunch of soldiers and bikers, talking and acting like soldiers and bikers and the genetic mixes known as war breed further mixing into the human genome.
