I looked everywhere on the forum and can't find this silly topic.
I yawn several times whenever I wake up, even from a nap.
I had always been vocal until I found out that it irritates people :(.
Then I found out you can control that part, and have been silent ever since.
FIL would yawn so loud, that you could hear it 3 bedrooms away:oops:.
On the other hand, I have never seen DW yawn a single time...in 33 years!
The reason we yawn: it is an instinct programmed into us, triggered by the brain to raise our blood-oxygen level:thumbs:.
So which category are you?

A. Yawn at least once a day.
B. Never yawn.
C. Yawn loud enough to rattle the windows.
D. Yawn, but rarely.

And if you see someone yawn you likely will yawn also. I yawn, sometimes noisily when at home. My LH was a yawner, and would scratch his chest while tossing back his head, opening his mouth like a cavern. Like, be warned, the bear has awakened. Lol funny the things we remember. And funny that the pets look at us when we yawn.

I dunno if it is true but I read somewhere yawning is triggered by your brain when it detects a low oxygen level
H he yawn is the body’s attempt to bring in more oxygen

Has anyone heard the same thing?

years ago ,i changed my yawn to a sigh out breath, to stop the "sleepys" that night yawns produce because of night shift gravel stock piling, it stuck .

Yes, they can be contagious.
My little brother discovered that whenever he yawned, his dog would yawn.
He would do 'fake-yawns' just to watch his dog yawn repeatedly. :D

that;s a strange question,, I am not sure I pay attention to that, but will now that you asked
The dog ( Otto) yawns and makes a noise when he does , does that count?
Since it is an 'involuntary' action, most people don't notice unless it happens while they are speaking.
