Good Lookin Plants Meer
I'll show you mine in 5-6 months if they live that long.
This is the only way I can garden. We have really bad poor shale here. I would need tons and tons and TONS of organic matter to get it up to snuff to grow food in it.
Its why I want to try to grow potatoes in containers this year
No problem, will do.Mo let me know how the okra does in the barrell if you don't mind. I've never saw it container grown before. That would be interesting
It came back but it time to get it established. How did the asparagus hold up over the winters? Did it come back the next spring?
I have been getting ready to grow potatoes in 5 gallon buckets. I have never grown them in buckets before, just in the ground. I saw a video yesterday by a man who grew carrots in a large container.
This was my very first go at container gardening. I was surprised at the amount of food I did get from them even though I was an amateur lol. Have learned a few things since then

When I try things, like growing food producing plants, in the garden or in pots, I call them science experiments. What works one year, fails another year. I can grow beautiful cabbage or cauliflower one year, and the next year it is a complete failure. I think those carrots in a bucket are a great experiment that I want to try this year. I have some buckets, but I wish I had many more. I can plant in my yard, but I am wanting to experiment with things like potatoes and carrots in buckets. i have been working on growing herbs in pots, with some success, some failures.
I have cabbage envy, Meerkat! Your vegetables look great!I thought I had a container gardening thread to put up for another idea for our new to gardening new members.but guess not.
About 3 or 4 years ago we grew these organic veggies mostly with compost.
Blueberries,
I am keeping watch on Craigslist for 5 gallon buckets for my garden. I got about 10 for free yesterday and only had to drive a couple miles to get them.Thirty one carrots from 10 inch pot not bad at all.
Meerkat, you grew that beautiful cabbage in a container? Was it in a bucket?I thought I had a container gardening thread to put up for another idea for our new to gardening new members.but guess not.
