Listened to a short radio talk on electric vehicles and still wonder why so many are fooled into thinking they will save the environment....with a 220 charger it takes 8 hours for a full charge, the average cost to recharge is $20....If you have to plug it in very night that will be expensive, with a less than 250 mile range the electric companies will be enjoying the large profits, and where will all the extra energy come from to create the extra electricity ? I wonder how millions of tons of natural resources it will take to build all those batteries ? easy on the environment ? and you won't be able to take it anywhere without knowing exactly where you would be able to charge it, tow bills anyone....with the higher cost of electric vehicles come higher insurance and probably higher repair/maintenance costs...will the batteries last the life of the vehicle ? how much will a new set of batteries cost ? I will guess a new gas engine will be cheaper to replace than batteries will be in a electric car or the electric motor....after 2-3 years resale value I would bet will be very low.....every time I see an article about electric vehicles and how great they are there is so much not being said.....vent session over....
