Thank you! Seems I wander across them when I'm not looking and when I am can't find them.
I finally finished Hubby's moccasins. They are not perfect!!! (major understatement) There were ongoing design changes and I finally just made them so he could wear them. I will be altering them and can show what he now wants after I make the changes. Here they are as he wore them last weekend. (They look funny without feet in them.)

Thanks Frodo. I got the pigskin back out this morning so I can "fix" them. I will also be adding lacing eyelets - just ran out of time before the last trip.EXCELLANT!!!!!!
Those are soooooo cool!!!
Ha! Your work makes me want to get better at this. Figuring out what weight of leather to use for which project takes some practice. Buffalo is very thick. Pig is far easier to work with but not as durable. I can't exactly afford to buy "one of each."General leather work thread?
How can I post anything that will compare with those shoes?
I was commissioned to make a rather large guitar sling, this adjusts out to 6’6”
Guys stage name is Twang Banger, his heart and personality are bigger than him. He sings country and gospel
Never heard of that. Your back brace gets hard because of moisture, (sweat). Sit in your comfy chair and wad up the leather over and over, work it, fold it, bend it . Leather is fiber and will contract when wet. Working the leather will make it soft again. The more used the softer it becomes. Be sure to oil your back brace with meats foot oil, if no neets foot use olive oil if no olive oil then use vegetable oil be warned veg oil might get rancidHave you ever used hot peanut oil+dye to soften leather?
I had some boiled leather pads I made for my back brace I accidentally got so hard you could use them as trauma plates! I gave them a 3 day soak and they were pliable enough for what I needed them for again.
