The problem is there is so much waste in the U.S. budget, the f35 is a gold plated turd

I believe none of us know the true resources and capabilities of our military. Much of the $700 billion being spent is on things we don't know about. Logically it wouldn't be wise to display all our cards to potentially hostile threats.

The F35 with the new block upgrades have been major improvements in performance and weapons, most of the problems being reported are recycled old news. Israel received it's first shipment of the F35 (F35I) April 23rd of this year with a total of 50 before 2021. The F35 has already been deployed in and around Europe and in Japan on training missions. I guess we really won't know the capabilities until they are needed in an hot environment. I also believe Lockheed Martin knows the Country won't tolerate dead pilots due to greed, the fallout would be unforgiving to say the least.

have a baf feeling about this NK,let's just hope it's spring fatique for me ;)

I'm sure North Korea has a much worse feeling about us. They're running out of friends and they aren't exactly sitting well on resources.

that's the troublesome part, very few resources, which can lead to desperate things, sure hope there aren't any trigger happy commanders at the DMZ.....

It sure looks like the prelude to world war III to me... Even Russia has a border with North Korea, and what will they do if the US and their allies goes to war... I believe that they eventually will go to war with North Korea, and when they do they will absolutely destroy them with nuclear weapons... It's really the only way... They can't attack North Korea "softly." If they don't get them severely and fast, the north Koreans will probably use their nukes... Crazy people in this world...

Yea it's not looking good for North Korea. I also believe a war with NK will be relatively quick compared to previous wars. North Korea is essentially surrounded by vastly superior forces.

In an era of the drone, I don't think they stand much of a chance.

well,NK need only to get some nukes away and the leadership will declare victory for NK,even if they them self got sent back to the stone age...

Don't underestimate the resolve of the soldiers there. We couldn't beat them the last time and ended up calling a stalemate. Sure, we can knock them back to the Stone Age, but they will still be killing our soldiers with stones.

Times and technology have drastically changed since then. Their military leadership is supposedly comprised of a small group of people. If we were able to get rid of Kim Jung Un...they would likely fold within short period of time.

Everything about their way of life revolves around their leader. They're one drone strike away from fading into oblivion.

Yeah, but if it is about to hit the fan you can bet that he won't be sitting in their capitol. He'll be far underground and a drone won't fix that...

Iran should listen closely to this prelude to war... The world doesn't have unlimited patience, and their nuclear ambitions can very quickly be a one way ticket to the grave... Perusing nuclear ambitions doesn't necessarily make a little country like Iran safer, and just because they are still here, pushing their aggressive agenda to the limit, and beyond, doesn't mean that they will be here tomorrow... The leadership of North Korea and Iran should know better... You can win one battle after another, but even if that is the case... you can very quickly end up facing your Waterloo... It can be over in a flash... I wouldn't miss them... Diplomacy go to hell! Always threatening other countries, and never seeking a peaceful solution... but war is still very unpredictable. It can so easily spiral out of control... but to be quite frank... If they really want to unleash nuclear holocaust, so be it... There won't be much left of the human race though... Right now, the free world needs to get their act together, especially the European countries... why are we not properly prepared? Dangerous stupid politicians... Destabilizing Europe seems to be the only thing that they are good for...

I'm no expert on the subject of war nor am I an advocate of it. It would appear however in today's modern Era that war is a game of chess.

It seems as if many countries are tap dancing that fine line than ever before. Many of them probably do it for leverage and or influence. Everyones constantly assessing their competition and were they rank in the super power hierarchy.

I have a feeling that the powers that be for whatever reason have decided that North Korea has reached the end of their time line.

Who knows though, maybe this will blow over.

I don't think that there can be any real experts on warfare... Yes, some are better prepared that others, and there have been people in the past that were exceptionally skilled when it comes to the art of war... but war will always be unpredictable, and when stone age minds toys with ballistic missiles, armed with nuclear warheads... it can very easily spiral out of control... The Chinese should side with the US, and its allies, and once and for all get rid of the North Koreans... Set an example for the rest of the world... Stop making trouble, or else... By siding with the coalition forces, the risk of a major conflict between the US and the Chinese would be substantially diminished... Why should China help a so called allied who sticks it to the all of the time? Dragging them into a conflict that they hopefully doesn't want...

Personally I have never been to war, but there must be a lot of adapting, and altering plans... Let's hope the Russians doesn't assault Finland again, but when it comes to North Korea, it's way over due to destroy them... If they don't destroy them as soon as possible, they will soon be able to nuke the mainland of the USA... I simply don't believe that the American army is preparing for war in the vicinity of China and Russia if the North Koreans wasn't a very serious threat to the security of the United State of America, and its allies...

"No plan of operations extends with any certainty beyond the first contact with the main hostile force."
- Prussian Field Marshall Helmuth von Moltke

Which is usually paraphrased:
"No battle plan ever survives contact with the enemy."

Ya its not good. I feel like this situation is a frieght train that cant be stopped. I do hope it can for the sake of man kind.

Most of mankind are rotten to the core anyway... backstabbing, lying, treacherous, hypocrites... etc. etc... I'm afraid this train is going no way to slow down...

Many are so surprised and preach damnation along with the end of times, how easy it is of the young to forget of the past or wasn't even born during the hight of the Cold War :(

All the talk here is the same as it was in the 50s 60s 70s 80s and even the 90s.

Eisenhower threaten to nuke china in 53 over our POW, the Cuban missile crises in 62 or in 1983 during able archer or in 1995 during a rocket mishap out of Europe. All these fears are the same fears for the past 64 years. If one doesn't remember seeing the white CD vans driving around, monthly testing of air raid sirens in your town, conelrad testing, fallout shelter signs everywhere, duck and cover, public service announcements on tv regarding nuclear war or brochures handed to student for parents from the office of civil defense, nuclear testing in the desert before moving to underground testing, the list is long from the 50s 60s and early 70s.... those were true fears. Today is nowhere near to what it once was.
