That is extremely sad (and true), but not shared was how many farmsteads whose families had been slaughtered had those soldiers encountered.
There were unfortunate circumstances from both perspectives.
No doubt. A friend shared this piece this morning. I also wondered what had led up to the massacre. I haven't really read the history about it yet. Was there a long time of trying to get them to move to the reservation and they were protesting? I

I don’t know all the circumstances either. I’ve just read things from both “races” that mention happenings.
