So I've been reading up about the different beddings one can put in their chicken coop.
The front third of our coop will be sand...the rear 2/3rds is where the roosts and a couple nests are...
We were thinking pine shavings. I'd used wheat straw in the past and it was fine but it doesn't break down very fast in the compost pile.
I've also heard pine needles, shredded paper, pea rock, cat litter....
Seems like a super wide array of choices...maybe I hadn't even heard of all of them.
What works for you guys? Reasonable in price and easy to break down...
