I need a phone tripod to shoot video. Next weekend I going to a bluegrass camp. 4 days of music with great pickers, nationally known. I'm thinking I'd like to record parts of the event. I went to bessby and looked at several they had, only one fit an android (a13 samsung). It was a piece of junk.

The audio recording isn't great in an a13 but I don't need great. The tripods I looked at came with an external mic. Not great but better than the phone without one. So, a tripod with a mic would fit the bill.

I guess I can order what I need online. Anyone have experience with cheap phone tripods? I'm looking for something less than $200. $100 is my target price.

(I have a 256g sd card in the phone)

Just buy an adapter and use any tripod you want.

$7.77 sounds like a good solution to me.

The nice things about tripods is, they have always used the same standard screw for decades to attach things/cameras. :)

I carry one of these.

Selfie Stick, Extendable Selfie Stick Tripod with Wireless Remote, Portable Phone Tripod Stand for Group Selfie/Live Streaming/Video Recording Compatible with All Cellphone, Compact Size & Lightweight https://a.co/d/b2EiwYq

Fits in the leg pocket of my bibs. Remember to leave it the car before attending a Trump rally. Security will not allow them. But for $15 it is cheap enough to avoid standing in the security line again.

Seeing that you've got a decent budget for a tripod, let me suggest this:

I've got one and really like it. It has a lot of really amazing features on it, things like facial tracking and gimbal. It also comes with a mini tripod base that you can use to set it stationary and then let the app move the gimbal to track and stabilize whatever you are shooting.

If you're looking for something to capture good audio, you might want to look at a portable digital recorder. I have the two below (actually, the DR-05 I just recently gave to my daughter). The H5 I still have.

The H5 is quite a bit higher end and has a lot more features, but the DR-05 is just fine. It makes great recordings. It can't power additional external mics like the H5 can, but chances are slim you'd want that anyway. The DR-05 is a lot smaller than the H5 to. And cheaper.

The user interface, on both recorders, can be a little challenging at times. A big thing for me is that you have physical dials to adjust levels on the H5, and the DR-05 has digital up/down bars on the display. I prefer physical dials. Also, the H5 can make a backup recording simultaneously with the main recording with the levels lower on the backup. This gives you protection if you didn't set your levels correctly on the main recording and blew things out to where they was significant clipping. This might be handy in high importance live recordings. I record in environments where I have better control, so have not needed this extra feature. The displays on both recorders are pretty old school. No fancy graphics, that's for sure. Looks more like a first generation video game from the 70's.

We picked up a tripod with circular light and holders for two cell phones for $60 at staples. Pretty lightweight but we use it indoors.
Something I would like to find is a good remote mic that stops wind noise when recording videos on a I phone 13EX.
