Going to have our taxes done next week, wonder how people will react this year? Many might have to pay taxes this year or not get anything back. Correct me if I am wrong, the first money last year wasn't that an advance on this years refund?

I've done my taxes and didnt owe or have to pay back the stimulus money.

All they wanted to know is if you got the two checks and that was it.

Didn't appear that way on our taxes. Such as they were. Got the usual refund.

We claimed the kid in 2019 so she didn't get the stimulus pmts. This year she filed on her own and she is getting the pmts as a "refund".

Just finished our taxes and got them filed today. They only want to know if you got the 2 stimulus checks and for what amounts. Those that did not get the full stimulus they were 'owed' will get the missing amount in their return/refund.

Refund? Why let the government use your money interest free. I try to plan so I owe a little.

It looks like the IRS won't start processing tax returns until Feb 12th. I'd imagine if they are filed electronically earlier than that date, they will just sit on them until the 12th?

They say that every year and every year we file before February 5th and we get our refund in under 10 days.

It is to stimulate the growth of free loaders mostly and some of the others but small biz can forget about it unles they are in the fortune 500 Club.

We used Turbo Tax for the kid and it said hers is transmitted and waiting for the IRS to start accepting them. We haven't sent ours yet, we are going to owe the state..

How bad is the tax situation this year? Inflation is hitting hard, and small businesses like mine are most vulnerable. I must pay too many taxes, and the money I am left with is not enough to maintain good service.

Everybody was cheering when they were sending everyone 'stimulus checks', I was gritting my teeth and saying: "it's just a loan that you will have to pay back with interest".
