Look behind you in that dark corner.
To begin with, you need a 308 caliber magazine pouch, you can occasionally find leather ones in good shape for cheap, or nylon ones for around 10$ Make sure it has the latches so you can hang it on your belt. In it put:
1 tactical flashlight and spare batteries, I recommend Duracell long storage type.
1 Leatherman or similar utility tool.
1 heavy-duty folding pocketknife. Cold steel SR-1 and Buck 110 come to mind.
1 torch lighter, check it every few months to see if it leaks.
1 roll of "blood clot" bandage.
1 roll of regular bandage.
1 roll of medical tape.
1 space blanket.
1 small bottle of antiseptic such as 100# alcohol.
1 suture kit.
1 small magnifying glass.
1 bottle of painkillers.
1 bottle of antacids.
1 pack of fire starter tabs.
100$ in ten dollar bills.
1 small can of mace.

How to make fire starter tabs.
Take a fire log, Using a coarse tooth (woodcutting type saw) cut the log into 1/2" chunks, wrap them individually in toilet paper, and put them in a Ziploc bag. Just the kit for patrolling, a fast trip to the woods, hiking, bike/horse trip or just to keep in your desk/work truck. Not quite a GHB, but far better than nothing!

You need a purse, lol!?

First let me say I am a sucker for kits. I love them, and have made several that are stashed all over the place.

What size is a 308 magazine pouch? I agree with the contents, but it seems like a lot of gear to fit in a magazine pouch.

What kind of knife is that?
I almost bought a Taurus 357 like that but got outbid a couple of weeks back.
It's a CRKT "CEO flipper" I got it from bladeops. My Taurus .357 is a model 66 from the dark ages, it's so old it only has a 6 shot cylinder :p

Zippo lighter with ranger band.
Great idea! I think I'll add some birthday candles too!
they're great fire starters! and I love ranger bands for everything.
I love my Zippos too!

I specified a 308 pouch. mine still rattles a bit, probably because I had to use my roll of paracord. :)
Morgan101 wanted to know about pouch size, this one is a bit floppy, but it appears to be 3 1/2" X4 3/4" X 7" It's a British FAL pouch I think, or Maybe G3. I'll look at a new M-14 pouch later.

This kind of defeats the small, light, clip on your belt plan, but...

Now how much more can you fit? A mall frame auto pistol, 4 clips? and maybe a pack saw, you could sit for days making the perfect mini kit for short-range bug out/GHB!

That's what I use for my IFAK

I believe you're right! Like I said, the size defeats the purpose.
