We need to down size. Children are married, given us grandchildren and all live several states away. Second floor roof gutters are getting higher every year and the extension ladder is weighing more too. Living in woods has its advantages but dealing with fallen branches and trees is a young man’s chore. Snow removal, let’s not even go there. We’re getting close to retirement age and when we do retire we’ll need to cut expenses and move somewhere warm…like Arizona! Wife points out our mothers are in their 80s and are in bad health, all of our friends are here too and then she goes all teary eyed about this is her dream house and…and…conversation stops. It’s going to be tight money-wise, have to hire out some of the household chores…I can still dream about Arizona can’t I?
