A newish trend in the UK for ethnics to gain street cred and acceptance in their local gang is they must go out and stab or shoot an innocent person, Two ethnics in London reently just ran up to a 16 year old girl guide in London and stabbed her to death, They did not even know her. But the black community are against Police stop and search procedures.

This is a problem in the U.S., too. In many urban areas the "rite of passage" to get in a Black gang is to beat up/rob a "White man."

out here the police are at least 45 minutes away maybe as much as an hour.
and they don't come out for burglaries anyway.
I haven't had a face to face conversation with a cop since I left my home city 20 years ago.

Bigpaul, I think the last time we saw any kind of law enforcement officer other than a Game Warden at the BOL was in the 1970's when a Deputy Sheriff hunted with us. He was actually the Game Warden's brother. The last time we saw the Game Warden at the BOL was in the 1980s when he brought his son to hunt with us.

they closed down all our rural police stations, now the only police you will come across are in the cities or large urban centres.
We generally don't have police stations in rural areas anyhow. Police generally only have jurisdiction in the cities. The closest law enforcement officers are often the Sheriff and Deputy Sheriffs headquartered in the county seat. I believe every rural county (or parish in Louisiana or borough in Alaska) DOES have a sheriff's office. Because the sheriffs are elected locally they have to be responsive to the community or they will be out of a job next election (every four years).

the only time a cop shows up in my location is if there is a "domestic" and then only if there are kids in the house.
the only time I see a cop is when they go flying past the area in a patrol car, and even that's not very often.
