@sonya123 there is a site called my county parks.com where you can find all the county parks in your state. We've picked parks to visit from that site and found some real hidden gems over the years. Some were less than an hour away but I had no clue they existed. They made for some great day trips...

Ladies fun around here....all get together and clean a widow's house, top to bottom. My cousin Harry was just gifted this last week, and got a filled freezer full of homemade meals, too.
There's been two canning "frolics" here recently....getting together and having a canning party for a sick lady, and one who had broken her leg.
There might be Fall festivals in your area...we went to one last weekend, and there's another this weekend. Havent seen an Octoberfest in our area, but those are fun

We love to go foraging on our day off from tending the place. Chaga can be foraged year round. During certain times, wild edibles can be foraged.

If this sounds too much like homesteading type activities, we will sometimes pack a picnic lunch or dinner, grab some beers or wine, and head up the mountain in our side by side and find some nice spot high up on the mountain with a great view of the massive mountains and huge glaciers and just relax and enjoy good food and each other’s company.

Of course there are occasional fishing and camping trips, but these area always too short due to our need to take care of our place.
