Did you have pictures of the leaves of the last one? The stems are hairless and usually have red to purple splotches on hemlock. Also it flat stinks when you break the stem. We have a lot of it around here and I pull it as soon as I see it. This picture doesn’t quite look like it but it could be.
I will have to go out tomorrow to get a picture of the leaves. It looks like water hemlock to me but I am no expert.

Been feeling cruddy the last few days. I don't think its the new meds because Mom isn't on them and has been feeling cruddy too. Sour stomach, lack of appetite, feeling tired, etc. My body feels sluggish. Managed to go to the post office and then walmart for groceries.

One of my cousins just announced she's engaged to get married. Her eldest son is getting married next month. Not sure when she's getting married. Hope her abusive narcissist ex doesn't find out. I don't think he's invited to the son's wedding, but I'm unsure. They had security at his daughter's wedding to make sure he didn't try to crash it. It's kind of funny that my cousin's fiance has the same first name as her brother.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out how to get my old freezer out of the house and a new one in. Need my friend to come help with it bc my brother is useless with stuff like that. Plus his ankle is still messed up and now his toe is swollen. But friend's wife just miscarried and they are trying to sort out what the doctors will do next.

If it wasn't so hot today I'd take the knob off my bathroom door and paint it. But it's 90°F.

Drove 4.5 hours North to Iowa.
All settled in at a State Park just outside Council Bluff, Iowa.
Hopefully out of tornado alley.
We had another round of thunderstorms this morning with heavy rain and a little hail.
It was past time to leave Missouri.
Welcome to Iowa! I'm 4 hours away from you or I'd come say hi. I assume you're at Manawa. It's a nice park. Beware of Council Bluffs though. It's not exactly a high end community. I worked over there for 5 months once and I got to know the town fairly well. Used to be able to get some good eats at the casinos, and there was a place called Quaker Steak & Lube that had good food. Bass Pro Shop is right there on I-80 if you get bored.

I sympathize with your grandma...I'm that grandma. I have a flip phone.
Went to the grade school graduation. Little granddaughter's 7th grade classmates were recognized (6 of them), and then there were 2 8th grade graduates. A couple of prayers said, a song sung, recognition of students, then cookies and punch. They've got a few more days of school next week, then summer break. Too bad the school is closing.
why is the school closing? Our Amish school down the road from us seems to be getting larger, we see the kids out playing and there is like 40 of them or so
So will your granddaughter go to regular public school next year?

started with the trip stuff today, son measured our carry on luggage to see if it's small enough and I started putting stuff together to take.

But first this morning all the lambs got their pneumonia shots and we finished all the sheep hoofs. SO glad that is done ! We put all the sheep in the barn ( so we can catch them) and still have to use a sheep stick and rope to get them. Goats are so much easier to deal with. They know there is food at the milk stand so they just come along and jump up there and eat, while I trim hoofs. The sheep...NOT! Husband has to tip them over and practically sit on them and they still try to kick

Also got more fencing weeded but I didn't today, just husband and son while I was resting my foot

Tonight we are supposed to have bad storms, so everyone is in again. But so far it looks clear out and nothing

Trip to town, shopping for the folks. Got pulled pork for dinner. Stopped an checked on some medicinal plants on the way home...

When inspecting the plants I did see 3 I think I can identify but I am no expert. Do we have a thread for plant ID? I think I found wild onion/garlic, ribwort(narrow leaf plantain) and hemlock?

Hemlock?

Hey Sonya...the grade school here is closing and becoming a preschool. Not sure where they'll get the students, maybe two classes of preschool max. The amish don't send their kids to preschool. I think the new superintendent wants to cash in on some Head Start money, and that'll fail miserably here. If so, the land goes back to the Keim family, that gifted it in the 50's, but returns to them if it is not a school. Most of the kids in granddaughter's class are amish, it's grade 6, 7, and 8 in her class. The amish only finish 8th grade. Some of the amish will be going to the amish school down the road to finish off. Little granddaughter needs to bus to the next town to their middle school. Not looking forward to that.

Just made it home about 10 minutes ago. Had an end of day meeting- pleasant but I’m tired. Hubby turned the coffee on early this morning and tricked me so we were awake early. I was wondering why I didn’t want to wake up. Anyhow, been a long day.
I’m just sitting for a bit before going to bed 🛌

Today's supposedly my day to myself...but...no. It's pouring and we're stuck at home because a tree fell across the long drive out of this place...there's 3 kilometres of mud-bogged roads on my place. I got the chainsaw all prepped and it growls along like it should,,,but...nah...not in the pouring rain. I keep looking at the weather radar to see when a space in the radar shows up! http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR663.loop.shtml

Croc, being stranded absolutely sucks. Been there and hope the rain will let up so you can get out.

thanks! I got those confused before and thought we had lots of it in our pasture and the goats were eating it!! I practically ripped a piece out of a goats mouth and moved them all somewhere else . Looked it up in detail and it turned out to be wild carrot. They look very similar but the wild carrot sort of smells like one when you pull it up, plus has a little purple dot in the middle and it was growing in sunny dry pasture not anywhere near the creek

question: are there any medicinal herbs that lower blood pressure naturally?

It was supposed to rain all day but it rained last night, storm woke me up again. Looks ok now maybe a little rain later

Have to clean barn today since they were in, plus finish sheep hoofs and maybe deworm a few goats just in case since I won't be here. The one with the pale eyelids in the past looks pale again, plus the milk goat feeding 4 looks paler than usual

Other than that I will start packing

oh I thought this was an Amish school. Sorry she has to take the bus . Husband and I joked before about what the world will look like in 50 years ( unless it's gone) . It will be populated by Amish and middle east terrorists ....( they are the only ones still having lots of kids). Our former neighbor down the road that just moved last year had 16 when they left

Going to work, two jobs today, but will most likely move the second one to tomorrow morning because of the storms! We could be dealing with large hail by 1pm! The job I might move is one of my favorite little ladies, she's all for me not getting getting my truck windows hailed out!! Everyone be safe today, looks like bumpy storms for many!!

hope the hail doesn't happen. We were supposed to get some but didn't. What's with all these storms lately?
I thought you lived in the dry part of Texas

Funny, just had lunch with a cousin I haven't seen in a few years, lives just down the road but has had several serious health issues of late. We actually played little league baseball together as kids. It was good to catch up. Said his grand daughter is in the state finals for hs girls softball, play this weekend somewhere.

Anyway, the funny part… He’s my third cousin. He married a woman who is also my 3rd cousin through a different branch of my family. They aren’t related but I’m related to both of them independently of each other. Which one gets me in a divorce? 🤣
