I'm not sure what my schedule is like today. What I do know is that I have a late afternoon class and until then I can work on my current projects. There's a lot to do.

I'm still going to call my clients and make concrete plans for our next meetings. Or maybe I should wait until they contact me. They are the client, after all.

I'll at least send them updates.

IR, you keep saying that "D" word. It scares me. I wish you wouldn't use it so much 😂

UH, you are doing great! When you are finished up inventory-ing yours, come on over and do mine 😇 I haven't counted anything yet but have been adding to it a bit as I can. I do have a master list though it's changed since I made. But at least it's a starting point.

Hubby beat himself up. When closing the shop doors, the man door blew closed on his fingers smashing them in the jam so he went to jerk the big door away from the man door and ran it into his face and split his lip. He's having another glass of ((hiccup)) to try to not feel any of it. Fingers are soaking in epsom salt water, superglued lip back together, and he took a couple ibuprofen. Poor guy, when he says something hurts, it must hurt. This is they fella who catches on fire sorta regularly and thinks little of it. (Not really catches himself on fire, but hot metal/slag lands on him.)
OUCH. I hate it when I do crap like that

Busy day today. The twins are leaving in a minute for their first day of their Junior year of HS. They are nervous and excited and I think the drama is already starting on their phone. New clothes, haircuts, and school supplies. We are ready for them to go.
We took a walk with a cousin last evening to see where we want to set up some sheep. He is out of grass at his place, so we're taking two ladies born last winter to practice with sheep. Then will bet some lambs when he has them again and give these two back. So the walk was to determine where they'd go and the fencing they need and the areas we need them to eat down, like in our drainage pond. So even though they will be fenced, they will need to be movable sheep, so I'll bucket train them. So this morning we need to get to the feed store and get some more posts, cattle panel, and baling wire. I have some panels here already. Little granddaughter has her meet the teacher mini conference at noon at the grade school today and then starts full day tomorrow. I also need to check in where I reserved a meeting room for our family reunion next week and pay them. AND the stupid washing machine is flashing stupid electronic codes and refuses to work yet again, so the guy will be out this afternoon. I am thinking I need to go ahead and get a wringer anyway and set up in the garage. We have our battery banks in there and I could hook up a spinner easily. The last owners of our place took out our wash house. Husband has pt this afternoon. I have more buckets of tomatoes and a bucket of green onions to work on

We're gonna go scope out the grocery store. I have had people telling me the shelves are not well stocked, some not at all. We will see.

Got my second shingles vaccine finally.

Not sure if I did this right, but I got the first shingles shot at the beginning of the year, then the two covid vax shots when they became available. That made me put off the second shingles shot, since you are supposed to wait between vaccinations. I finally got my second shingles shot almost exactly 6 months after the first one. I really don't want to get shingles. Sounds like that is a bad one.

Also, I am meeting with my financial advisor again today. (Had a meeting with him last week.) I've been far too hands off on my retirement savings. Time for me to take more control. I busted my behind to save that money. I don't want to be a bonehead about it now.

screen is smaller than it should be.
That was operator error! I didn't know the screen was measured diagonally, not up and down.
if I take a couple (3-4) of pictures of each shelf up close,
Great idea!

Yesterday after walk, took phone to verizon for help switching over.
Kroger for meat sales--Tukey smoked sausage-$2, got 2
Hamburger 10 pounds $24
Pork steaks- .99 a pound
chicken thighs bone in .99 a pound
Also bought 15 bell peppers to dry pack PC with onions today.
3 half gallons chocolate milk which I PC'd yesterday when I got home.
Swept house.

Today, walked first and walked dogs.
Will process peppers and onions when I catch up here.
Not sure what else the day will bring except more figs, every day-more figs!

School with the girls. Roo is actually getting her work done in a timely manner for once. I just have to set a timer!

I had ordered a floor fan for the school room since it is very hot in there. Since we stopped using the A/C to cut the bill that room is a sweatbox! When the A/C is on it is the coldest room in the house! Well, the fan arrived yesterday after school was over. I set it up in preparation for today. So we head into the room for school and it is 65 outside and there is no need for the fan! You think you are sooooooo funny. Don't you, God?!

Rode the bike and lifted weights this morning.

My insurance won't pay for Shingrex. Vaccine cost is $200 out of pocket.

Your wish is my command. Sooooo, I spent the day at the hospital today. I tried and I tried yesterday afternoon and all night to drink plenty of water with magnesium, and took some magnesium capsules but for some reason it didn't relieve what I thought was a bad case of constipation. Headed to the hospital at 4:30 am and took out my appendix.

Wow. That's terrible. I hope you get to feeling better, soon. I don't think I know anybody that has had their appendix out. How long is your hospital stay?
Thank you.
I got to the ER about 5:30 am, I walked out about 2pm. I think getting there early allowed for an early surgery, actually they did the laparoscopy think where they made 3 small holes through my stomach and removed the appendix with they scope thing. There was mention early on about going home after recovery but after the procedure different people were mentioning staying over night. I told them I did not want to stay over night, didn't want to extra charge on the bill. No one objected and the surgeon was on board with letting me go home.
Tomorrow I get to do the brain work for building out the framework for the bathtub, the GF's son can do the assembly. With any luck the inspector can come out Friday afternoon to approve the drywall.

Went to the dentist on Tuesday to get two teeth filled. One required her to put a metal ring around the tooth to rebuild it as the whole back part came off all the way down to the gum. Ring also pushed the gum away. It took awhile because there was a lot of build-up. Then I got a cleaning. I'd eaten around 6am before going (and I did brush before). After picking up RX for next visit (have to take a large dose of antibiotics each time) I grabbed mail & went home. Racked out for a few hours. Got woken up to cook for mom since my brother refused. Racked out all night and up to 3pm. Cooked for Mom again and then back to sleep until almost 9pm. Was cranky when I was awake and shoulder and arm were really bugging me again. Still feel tired.

Heard from my friend. He tested positive for Covid. His girlfriend's sister, sister's husband, sister's husband's brother, & their baby have Covid. His ex's son tested positive for Covid. We think the sister gave Covid to the gf's mom who gave Covid to the friend's gf's baby who then gave Covid to my friend and the gf and to my friend's daughter. The daughter likely passed it to her brother because the ex picked her up halfway through quarantine and took her to school (at the school's insistence). So now the people at the school have been exposed. It's the gf's mom's 3rd time having Covid and this time she's doing worse. Her sister & others are having to use nebulizers. My friend, his gf, and the baby all have fevers. The gf's work just called & threatened to fire her for not returning 10 days in to quarantining despite having been told to quarantine for 14 days by the casino's clinic. She's fairly certain they are firing her but she doesn't want to spread Covid at work and she's also too sick to work. I told her to go get tested again (she had false negative results the 1st time) so she can sue for wrongful termination or at least get unemployment for being wrongfully terminated.

I didn't eat for over 36hrs but was finally able to eat some ramen after 9pm.

I did make good progress in Sketchup though.

Yesterday after work I picked up some stuff for the wife and hit a grocery store, we were planning a major canning event for Labor Day weekend, but when I couldn't find Carrots or Cooking Onions it got me to thinking that things might be moving faster than I expected. So last night I decided that I would can venison stew this weekend to get things started, I'm off now to try and find a carrot......

This morning I was able to get some poor looking carrots, onions, and potatoes so I have a start. I harvested green beans tonight and finally saw some okra buds, HAPPY DAY.

When I got back inside the wife asked me for some more rice and my inventory flashed in-front of my eyes, it had been saying I had a hole in grains (now wheat) but I hadn't put 2 and 2 together: some how we have used up over a hundred pounds of rice, we still had 8#s in reserve, but I went on-line and ordered a bunch of rice.... I may pick up some more as I do my shopping but I feel a little more comfortable now. I did find 2 empty Ice chests (they used to hold seal-a-mealed Rice) so I have a way to clean out and inventory the freezers (if I get it done before my rice arrives).

Tomorrow, with be a long and expensive day as I will spend my lunch hour having the dentist finish the work he started last November.... :( I need to talk with the wife again about the emergency backup solar panels, the sale ends tonight (15% is 15%) After work tomorrow I plan to prepare the venison for a Saturday canning event... I might make some more of the sloppy joe filling mix, now that I know how to do it.... ;)

Today I learned how much gasoline the left cylinder on my John Deere AR holds when the float doesn't do its job, and am in the process of learning how much effort it takes to spin the flywheel enough times to get it back to wanting to run, luckily it was on the intake stroke for one cylinder and didn't drown them both.

If you crank it once with the spark plugs out it will push all that gas out of the cylinder... clean the spark plugs, let the cylinders air out (and all the gas dry), then put the plugs back in and give it a try.

I took the plugs out and spun it over, after I recovered as much gas as i could out of the compression release petcocks, it is hand start so I am the starter, each cylinder is 160 cubic inches.

Thank you.

Glad it went smoothly for ya. I had an emergency appendectomy in a country where I didn't speak the language and mine went well, except for the part where I woke up during surgery... now that was a trip!

Take it easy for a while.. No lifting sheet rock. For me abdominal surgery took weeks to get over, pace yourself. :) It was a bigger shock to my body than I had anticipated.

Today all my plans got washed away, rained tremendous amounts this afternoon. Just dinner and laundry are on tonight's list.

I sat on a jury where an ER Dr was being sued for malpractice when he didn't check for an appendix problem and sent the guy home telling him he just ate some bad meat. A day later the appendix burst. The poor guy had to have his stomach opened daily for about a month to clean it up.

When I saw the Dr fingering his Rolex while testifying I was convinced he was guilty.

Me and another woman hung the jury over the weekend. Eventually the woman got bored and flipped her vote. I still feel sorry for that poor victim to this day.

and a certain old green tractor learned to be more co operative, i hope, or an almost as old hillbilly might have learned a little too

That's a lot of gas, and work.

Worked~
Have a to-do list for the next two days. I'm trying to get the freezers cleaned out and ready when our beef arrives. Also trying to arrange to get a hog. No luck yet but at least a lead. Hubby is at a friends working on the jeep. It's a '71 CJ5 that he and his twin bro. came home from the hospital in. He wants it ready to go for hunting season (not this weekend, but the following) so trying to get it all put back together. His dad had made some interesting changes to it. Our house looks like a bomb went off. I have canning stuff and hunting stuff in addition to laundry and a couple packages I need to get in the mail. It has been nice in that we've had reasonable temps the last couple days. The air is still thick with smoke but at least not smoke and 100*.
Say does anybody else remember when there used to be a degree symbol on the typewriter? I miss that. How often do we really need an asterisk?

Went another family "Celebration of Life today".
This family member had served in World War II on a aircraft carrier"USS Kadashan Bay in Leyte Gulf.
Maybe in the Philippines.
Hopefully you're about done with those sorts of events and they are replaced with much happier events.
