Mo, maybe next time they won't invite the soon to be ex. Surprised he was there anyway. Ex's usually take their own day to celebrate with the birthday child.
Terri...I am chuckling about the Rangers, because the chicken guy at Tractor kept saying they were not meat chickens. The sign said they lay large brown eggs. Ha. We'll have to butcher before they get too hot. I read a review last night that someone preferred Cornish X just because they get so much bigger faster for meat. Like 2 lbs bigger. We'll see, never raised Rangers, but have had Cornish the last few years.
OOOHHHH....it's Monday. And I work late. Ugh.
Oh he is the type that would be there regardless, controlling, anger issues, manipulative.
But I know whose birthday party he won't be at, my grand daughter's second birthday party.
Thought son and his lady was planning that, but found out I'm planning it instead.
Don't know for sure if they will be together still.

Beautiful day here today. Sunny 70* with almost no wind and humidity was in the single digits. Wife and I went for a long walk.
Back home I finally tricked out a hidden spot for 4 guns. I had decided to do this a year ago but got around to it today. Overall a good day.

Round 1 of today is that we took down 3 more 14' ironbark grapeyard vineyard posts and only 4 more to go until we finish that task :woo hoo: . Then we folded up 3 loads of clean laundry and put it away, washed, cleaned benches and dried all dirty dishes in the kitchen. DH watered the potted plants out the side of the house and 1 shrub around the side of the house with water from the yoghurt maker too.

While DH slept I put away all the items from our school fete stall and DH just sprayed the back, side and front house lawns for weeds and is off doing the spraying at the RSL club too that he has already been paid for. Shortly I will put the chocolate chips back in the food storage boxes we used for the fete to hold items and go through the dates on them and put the oldest to the front and newest to the back and do up our shopping list for tomorrow's grocery and other shopping with the specials I saw.

I just got back from my semi-annual land fill run. There is always some leftover that can't be reused or repurposed that I need to dispose of so I make a run twice a year to pay the county to bury it.
Last fall they decided that Styrofoam could no longer be put in the trash. There are no places in this area that want to recycle the stuff so I found a use for it. Mixed with lacquer thinner it makes a great wood sealer. I paint it on, especially the end grain, and the wood lasts "forever" in contact with water and the ground. In about a hundred years I will report on any hazards that come of this practice, though I don't expect any, so stay tuned. It leaves a hard plastic coating that is more or less clear and very resistant to wear and moisture. I don't think it will hold up well to UV light but when it is buried it doesn't get much sunlight.

Been busy working on the chainsaw trying to get it running again so I can finish cutting up the tree that fell, wound up just getting a used 1 for $20. Also been dealing with the new ducklings and set up and started incubating some geese eggs. Now I've still got to get the mower ready for the season .

Took the kid to the Dr. The ear isn't infected, doc thinks its fluid pressure from allergies and changed her allergy meds. We'll see. Tomorrow is supposed to be windy/sandy. School is releasing at 11:15am. Wish I could just stay in bed, why take them in just to bring them home in 3hrs......

School is releasing early because of wind and sand? Awful. Stay in bed! Forget school!
Good luck on her ears.
Fishing, tomatoes.
Ducklings.
Bingo.
Let's see, what did I do today?
Medical stuff, more medical stuff, called family, had a couple of visitors that reminded me that God remembers me and my family and loves us, had a slice of cheesecake, and took my very quiet son out for a burger, just the two of us. He enjoys talking about political history and current events but is otherwise very quiet.

Went to what we call the big smoke today town about 45 - 60 mins away for DH's doctors appointment and we sorted out a physiotherapy referral so DVA will pay for the sessions and organised for the doctor to also contact DVA about getting a heated spa put in here too for some hydrotherapy for DH's back pain which helps him a lot to become weightless and helps him a lot with not taking nearly as much pain medication.

We then went to IGA and picked and stocked up on some half price and under half price items in their weekly catalogue being tinned tuna, half price breakfast cereal, just over half price tinned soups for winter and some slightly reduced in price valencia oranges. Before we moved we didn't buy any tinned foods for a couple of months to make it easier to move.

Then we went to Aldi and picked up macadamia nuts, almonds, lots of tins of cat food, body wash and vegetable oil.

Next stop was BigW where DH needed to buy a pair of hair clippers as his 20 year old set finally died, I picked up some more long sleeved cotton t-shirts and DH found 5 long sleeve t-shirts for himself too at quite a good price as well. We used our 5% off roadside assist gift card to get a discount. Then to the mower tyre shop to pick up our permanently repaired tyre that had been leaking on and off for over 2 years that the tyre place could not find a puncture in. Now it will never go down again, yay :).

Just about to date and put away all the groceries we purchased today.

Round 2 of today is the groceries are now dated, rotated and put away and we attacked the food storage room and stacked all the empty preserving jars and bottles in a box that didn't have the bottom coming out of it.

DH has now got dinner on which will be mince stir fry with cream of mushroom sauce and homegrown silverbeet, broad beans and sweet potato.

Just about to order more roadside assist gift cards which will give us 5% off our groceries at the supermarket after I make out the final list of staples we need to stock up for on groceries on Friday.

Hi everyone hows the best group of people on a online forum doing? :huggs:I had mentioned I was going to take a break but did't plan on staying away so long.
We have got the garden going pretty good now and lots of other little jobs. kids helped with last visit.
Plus I had lots of medical test done for heart and stomach but seems ok so far although docs want to do more test and I don't. I don't want any radiation tracers aka radiation contrast cruising around inside me while they blast me with Cat scan. Now they shoot some kind of radiation into a vein then xray the crap out of it. Heart sonagran was ok so was stomach so thats enough.
Anyway I did get a email from another site so I had to make sure I made more enemies, [ not my intentions] and get into a hot debate , I am not as bad as before and do try to stay away from hot political and religious debates but I fail. It didn't last long soon as I woke up I left. I was getting it left and right.
Today we watered the plants and did some light cleaning.

Using the leftover spaghetti to make spaghetti salad.
It was yummy, just had a small bowl.
Ready for a nap now.
Walked over a mile today just doing laundry.
Haven't gotten back up to 5000 steps yet, but everyday I get closer.
Welcome back Meerkat, glad to see you.

Woke up very flu like, which was a total bummer because it was school picture day. So I had to go. Two to twelve year old kid pictures are funny. We have had the same great photographer for 5 years. This afternoon we took an all school group shot. It's usually done outdoors, but the winds today were incredible. So, we moved furniture in our science room and took it there. He'll be back tomorrow morning, one more day of photos. Did manage to get our home shopping done after work, and did get some very great deals, and now I feel totally wiped out and need to cook something simple for dinner.
