I have tried these. Some I may not want to eat again. How about you?

1 - Once upon a time I lived in a rust belt city. At the grocery store there were dozens of different ethic breads, heaven if you love bread. I could have Russian black bread, rye bread or Polish cha?ka and babcia or Jewish breads, Hungarian breads, German breads, Swedish breads, Italian breads, dozens of great breads whose names I can't pronounce. Anyone here ever have a Beef on Weck? Or beef on kimmelweck to be exact… Heaven!

Then one day I was transferred to the bay area. I went to the grocery store eager to see what wonderful bread they had on the west coast. There were only two kinds of bread at the store, wonder bread and sourdough. I cried, overwhelmed with sadness. For many months I suffered from “great bread” withdrawal symptoms. I endured the torture of eating crappy bread for two years.

Then came the blessed day when I was transferred back east again. On that day I swore an oath “Never again would I eat a piece of crappy sourdough bread!” :thumbs up:

I'll eat anything on that list if I were starving but almost half of the list is a no go on Keto.

There are really two schools of thought here; what would I eat if the SHTF and food is in short supply and what would I eat if life was normal and I had the luxury of picking and choosing. Under the former conditions I would eat absolutely anything on that list. Under the latter conditions I would never ever ever eat any foul nasty lake, sea or ocean rodent that lives in water (gross) and I would not eat any of the sugar laden processed garbage foods like Nutella or sugar balls like oranges or grapes. I can't comment on "white chocolae" because I don't know what it is. If it's white chocolate then chalk it up to sugar laden processed garbage foods. Not sure what "Lettuse" us either. Seems like the creator of that image has as good of spelling as they do insight into what makes one a picky eater.

I have eaten everything on the list, and some things that are not on the list. I will never eat Tofu again, and some things I can no longer eat due to Dietary Restrictions. I have never been a Picky Eater, and will try most anything at least once. How many have tried Roasted Possum? YUM.

Fine with the whole list, but being being a chef its pretty difficult to be picky.
There are some thing I refuse to try again.
Stinky tofu, fermented shrimp paste, sea cucumber, balut....

My hubby eats stinky tofu with his water rice. I don't have a good sense of smell and can only imagine how bad it really is; I leave the kitchen when he eats those sewer treats. I can eat pretty much every thing on the list except raw fish, tofu and avocado, but I am not starving yet so even that could change. Cilantro isn't on the list and if it were in contact with any of the listed foods, I would not be able to eat those foods. Even the slightest speck of cilantro causes every thing to taste like dish soap to me.

5 I don’t eat because I do care for the taste of them. Zero I would not eat if it was what is for dinner and there is no choice. I have tried everything on the list more than once.

I have eaten everything on that list. You could add insects, grubs, worms and slugs to it and I would still score 0.
If there were no slugs or insects around and tofu was all there was I might eat it again. After all, I will do what it takes to survive.

The Asians have some rather nasty stuff they eat, fish sauce being one of them, but those foods were created out of necessity, so who knows when times get hard. I have eaten bugs, slugs and other creepy crawlers and it is all down to mental expectations over taste for those. I love organ meats, with the exception of trite and brains. I would need to find a way to disguise the textures of those before I could eat them.

I spent two weeks travelling in the less travelled parts of Szechuan province in China and lost more than a few pounds. My worst trifecta; hot sauce, cilantro, and no refrigeration along with almost all seafood. I just couldn't swing the copious amounts of cilantro in every thing. If it wasn't for bananas, my belly button would have been kissing my backbone in short order. Which reminds me, give fermented yak milk a pass if it ever crosses your path; both, for safety and health reasons. Ask me how I know.

Bugs, bats and more. As Clem says the lack of refrigeration in some places created issues.

Unlike Clem, I have to be starving to eat organ meats. I have eaten then but they are way down my list.

Cilantro I am sure was invented by the devil and it seemed to be in almost everything in SE Asia

As much as 14% of the population is thought to have a problem with cilantro. It tends to be genetic, and is due to it containing the same chemical as soap. The rest of the population cannot taste this chemical. If I were a restaurant owner, I would not allow it in the kitchen as it loses customers faster than anything I can think of. Indian cuisine is another tough one. Cilantro is in everything. I don't eat Indian food solely because of cilantro. It would be yummy otherwise.

I have known people who would not eat cilantro, because they say it tastes like soap. Me, I love it!

I have cousin that would not eat more than 3 or 4 things on the list.
She is the pickiest eater I have ever seen.
Beans, shrimp, crispy fried potatoes and maybe a little lettuce.
That's about all she eats.
She also has more stomach problems than anyone I have ever seen.
She eats 6 Beano tablets before she eats anything.
That cannot be good for a person.
She also takes a huge amount of pills her pill pushing doctor gives her.
She is also skinny as a rail.
Next month she has an appointment at the University hospital for test.
Probably won't help.

As for me I have eaten everything on the list and probably will eat it again.

Somewhat like Backlash, I know someone who's a vegan. Damn girl is so friggin skinny it's not healthy. Sick all the time.

I read you have to eat something like 20 pounds of greens (grass as far as I'm concerned) to get the same protein as a nice steak. The brain relies on protein. Maybe that's why she's a democrat. :(
