Am I the rude , cranky one here ?

But, when I'm at a restaurant, eating my meal , and an acquaintance is leaving , spots me , comes over and wants to talk, while my meal is sitting there getting cold,
Not to mention I'm hungry.

I hate that. So most of the time we go out of our area to eat because of this.

Am I rude to ignore them , a little , and eat.?

Jim

Smile and say,' let me eat this before its cold and we'll talk., nice to see ya'

when it appears they are going to converse all night I’ll interrupt to tell them it was nice talking but unfortunately the food is getting cold. Give us a call or a invite sometime. Then I break eye contact and go back to eating.

I hate sitting at the next table even worse... While the person is talking to you I'm left trying to eat with their butt 2ft from my face!

I actually said "EXCUSE ME!" to such a lady one day in a resturant full of people. I said "I'd rather not eat with your butt in my face". Everyone heard it... you could've heard a pin drop. The lady got so flustered she left without saying a word but with a red face.

I can be cranky too!

By way of explanation... I endured the pleasantries... the "How's your Momma?" or uncle Joe.

The second time she said "Did you hear about so-and-so" it was clear she intended to catch up with a month's gossip from the sewing circle..

That's when I spoke up!

I figure it's rude to interrupt someones meal. I am a communicator - just ask my wife - and I have no trouble telling someone I am eating and would love to talk to them after I finish my meal. People are more often impatient and will leave. The ones that have something important to say will wait. Either way I get to eat my meal and converse with my wife in our own inappropriate way. ;)

I have to vent: Our stupid governor ordered restaurants closed. Excuse me, why don't we just order gov. closed. It would be a lot more helpful! Look up the numbers on H1N1 - far deadlier only under Obama's rule. This is "the flu" like it is every year. You should always wash your hands and stay home if you're sick. It's a political ploy - election year BS. We don't even eat out often. I just think it's getting rather stupid. I might have to contact our local officials and ask them to inform their higher ups that we are grown ups and will decide for ourselves if we want to "risk" going out. When did they start having to name everything - storms, diets, flues? Could they be any more asinine? Please don't answer that - I'm venting remember.

I n the past two week I have got maybe 4 calls from a guy, obviously from the Indian subcontinent, who has probably spoken English all his life. I understand very few of his words that contain more than one syllable.
I keep asking them to repeat themselves if I don't understand them. After a few times, they are more frustrated than I am. But this is only when I initiate a call.

I do my best to not answer the phone when and if I do not recognize the number. Once in a while I do answer, especially if I see it is someone who has called several times in the last couple days. I can be a very rude person when someone calls me, and somehow I answer. Call me and immediately start talking with no regard to me or anything, and I might just hang up on you. Once in a while, I answer the phone and immediately hang up. There's a message! There is a scam of people calling saying they are from the police union and asking for support for families of fallen police. B.S. These people must work together to see how they can run scams on people.

If the "friend" was polite they wouldn't take more than 2 seconds of your time. "Good to see you. Just wanted to say hello." You say the same, and off they go. You shouldn't feel obligated to have a conversation when your meal is sitting in front of you.

Not a happy camper. My new DNP at the clinic sent me a message today that she won't sign off on my department physical unless I come in for another appointment on Friday. She is concerned about my BUN/Creatinine Ratio which was reportedly on the high side. I told her nurse that I eat Keto, which is a high protein diet, and that explains the BUN levels being elevated. I also explained that for 7+ years in a row my former DNP just noted on the chart that I was Keto. The new DNP still felt it was necessary for me to come back in this Friday for another blood test and a consult. I told her I was NOT going to come in to a medical clinic needlessly and that I needed that form signed and returned by April 1st. She responded that she felt strongly that she needed to see me again before she signed the form, and would need to discuss the situation with her boss before she could proceed. I am not one to curse, but she made it very difficult for me not to. I already told the wife I will be seeking out a new practitioner the instant that form was signed and turned in. By the way if I don't have that form signed and turned in by April 1st I am going to on desk duty only until I go through a long and tedious bureaucratic process.

They want you to come back so they will get paid twice for the same thing.
I call it extortion, but it is legal.
They tried that

with me on the DOT physical for my CDL back when I was working.
I told them that I didn't like driving a truck anyway and that would be the last physical they would do for our company.
CEO was so mad about it, they never got paid a dime.

*No, there was not a damn thing wrong with me.

I know a fell who ate game meat and veggies and little else. When he went into the military, they questioned his bloodwork - yep all due to lack of sugar like general population. They are so used to seeing the sick, they don't know what healthy looks like.

Good luck with the bureaucracy. Is there anything your doctor can do to intervene? Would it do more harm than good to go over her head?

Exactly. I am always get great numbers; from A1C, to HDL and LDL, but that BUN is always high because I eat a lot more protein than most people do. But that is also because I am a 6'2" 245lb male who is not overweight!

That's what the wife said. I am going to see what happens tomorrow and, if necessary, call her boss on Monday morning.

I think if you used their (medical community) numbers you would look like you were just released from Auschwitz. My favorite quote from my doctor when he looked at my numbers "That's a lot better than you deserve." True story.

Welcome to modern medicine... Doctors look at a computer screen. If boxes S, T, U, & V are checked then W, X, Y & Z must be preformed to meet insurance requirements.

Doctors are not allowed to practice medicine. Insurance companies and the Feds now dictate all care whether it's a private carrier, medicare or the VA.

I am convinced the schooling that the twins have received so far in the first year of High School has ruined them. Slow in doing chores, can't handle Algebra 1 anymore, even though they are supposedly in Geo Honors, handwriting and spelling, and writing in general has gone to you know where. Sarcasm. I tutored them the first few yrs they were with us, and actively taught them every summer. They are a mess now. The new math workbooks that I ordered from Amazon came in, and they can't do them.
So tomorrow we'll start the day with the morning jog, breakfast, schoolwork, then the 1 hr of chores. Today the one hour of chores took them 6 hours, and the schoolwork is a mess.

Trying to teach kids whose hormone levels are at full steam and are approaching sexual primes is task better suited to someone who is patient and firm. I don't envy teachers of that crowd at all! :)

There is a state back east somewhere that is have a month of free fishing- no license required. Washington and Oregon have banned all recreational fishing until further notice- because being in the middle of nowhere with nobody within casting distance might evidently contaminate someone even if you’re healthy 😡.
Also keep seeing things that truckers are now heroes or the grocery store attendant etc. The real heroes are those folks who are not able to work right now who will still pay their bills and not go looking for handouts because they thought ahead. They will be the first ones wanting to get back to work also. Okay thank y’all for letting rant.

IMHO, the heroes are the people who are still going to work, to take care of the rest of us, doctors, nurses, medical personnel, grocery store workers, food industry people who are still working to make food in this healthcare crisis.

I have heard of two incidents, and I am not sure where. I think my wife told me one happened here to a friend of a friend. Here is a link for one:

The second one some young person licked the handle of the shopping art an elderly person was using. If that happened to me I would surely be arrested and put in jail. It is hard to fathom how stupid these people are. What kind of parent raises an idiot like that? My first inclination is that no punishment is cruel and unusual enough. My second inclination is to infect them with the virus, and let them rot.

I found two feral cats in my chicken pen this morning. They were still feeding on one of my chickens they had killed. They killed 3, a rooster and two of my young hens. I forgot to shut my chickens up in the coop last night...

The war against these feral cats went to sleep with the health issues my parents have had over the winter... It's back on! I got two within 15 minutes. The rest are hiding, I'll get them, they've made me mad!:mad::mad:

They couldn't get to the dozen baby chicks I have... not going to either.

I got a problem with gigolo cats. Keeps me supplied in Barn cats though. I do keep them thinned out , or they would take over.
