I used to live in Gonzales TX.
We used to drive through there all the time. On the way from our home in Austin to our family farm in Woodsboro (near Refugio). We would always stop for a break at the Dairy Queen in one of your neighboring towns - Cuero. As kids, we always knew that once we hit Gonzales, the Dairy Queen wasn't far ahead.

Is anyone else besides me mind boggled that someone would build permanent structures in a place like this, and then complain about flooding potential after the fact?

A majority of New Orleans is below sea level.
Guess what they found about hydrodynamics last time?
Water flows downhill.
Who woulda ever guessed that?

Of course, being good Dems, they blamed it on the soil level sinking:LOL:.
