Wednesday we set a bit of record as the high for the day was-18F. Now it's just past midnight going into Saturday and the temp is +15F. Supposed to be 40 above on Sunday after being -40 Wednesday night.

The winds have been in the 30-60 MPH range for the last 24 hours, it rained most of the day yesterday and the temperatures dropped down to 7F overnight, wind chill is ugly... the roads are shiny inviting the uneducated to take them for a spin....

Some clouds moving into the area, and it's still 30* F but the forecast high is 54* F with a low of 24* F tonight. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny & 58* F, so there may be an opportunity to go riding or hiking. If the ancient village is now open for visitation, I may return to the Three Rivers Petroglyph Site and check it out, gotta call first to make sure it's open, they were having trouble with some equipment to improve trails and whatnot.

Still have snow on the ground from the Arctic blast last Thursday night, now we’re expecting two more inches with a little clipper coming down tomorrow. At least we had a white Christmas!

15 degrees out, but the wind has finally eased off some. Was 40-50+ mph for the last few days. This evening it's 15-20 mph. Drifts are pretty tall, but not much snow in between, I think the winds took it to Canada. The wind was so fierce it picked up soil from the frozen fields and all the drifts are dirt-streaked.

A big ice storm forecasted for tonight and tomorrow. Up to a half inch.

Got up to about 28 today, sun came out this afternoon. It felt much warmer on my porch. 20 right now, might hit 15 before dawn.

I'm ready for the once in 20yr temps to go back north where they belong.

Still on the cool side, got up to 21 today. Daughter and I went out the check for storm damage and to bring up more firewood. Had a little sun and the windchill wasn't bad. Thankfully only a few branches down. Supposed to warm up quite a bit the rest of the week.

California would love to divert some of the Columbia River water south.
There has been talk of doing that for years and they probably will eventually.
The Columbia River discharges 265,000 cubic feet of water per second (7,500 m3/s) into the Pacific Ocean.
That is a lot of water.
