going to start with the animals in a minute here, it is supposed to rain a lot in a few hours, so we need to get the barn clean for them to go in. Today is the official start of the due date for lambs. I don't want any to be born outside at the bottom of the pasture in the pouring rain
Finally got our internet fixed yesterday took them all afternoon. Some animals chewed through the wire outside. Why they did this I have no idea, they put the wire up higher off the ground now. Then the router was fried and they had to program a new one. Then the other equipment was no longer connecting to the antenae and they had to reprogram that also. We haven't had any rats in the house, so I am not sure what chewed through it and why. How annoying.
In the meantime I was doing laundry and husband got gravel for the road, and despite us having discussed this the gravel managed to get put in all the wrong places not where it was needed. I was really mad and yelled and husband and driver. This stuff is not cheap and now the problem is still not fixed. Sometimes I feel like if I don't take care of it myself, things don't get done right
Then I am injured in several areas , overuse injuries that require rest which I dont have time for. I really hate being old.

high fire danger!
We've had 6 fires in my area in the last 3 days. Not good.

Will walk shortly.
Vacuum out car, finally. not sure why I kept putting this off.
Spend time outside with dogs. Had to set appt. to put Oreo-bigger dog- down. He bit DH again the other day. DH is concerned for family coming down in March. We've had Oreo over 5 years and just can't get him over whatever happened before we got him. It's sad. And I feel guilty as it is a relief, also.
Give myself a pedicure, this evening.

Sorry about Oreo, I think you are doing the right thing! If you try to re-home him he could end up in a bad situation. It's better he goes peacefully and humanely than bite someone else. I know that's a hard decision you made, but I do think you are doing the right thing!!

I don't think that we could even give him to a rescue with his biting history. He came to us mentally messed up from the animal shelter with a large scar around his neck, one leg and tail. He has had so much more time than if we had left him at the shelter. And you know he has had a good life! I know it is the right thing, but so difficult!

well you guessed it Coffee, feeding the stove, probably going to get somemore food for said stove.

Husband's been on the phone with Walgreens. The pharmacy hacking at their supplier (United Health Care is one) for any meds under Pt B, like albuterol and budesonide cannot be filled because of the hacking. It can't verify whether insurance will pay or not, or what amount. Husband pays $0 for these normally, but would have to pay cash. They were hacked last Wednesday, and still can't fix it. So they said the albuterol would be $60 for a month, and the budesonide would be $800 for his 90 day. What a racket. This country is in deep doo doo just from the simple fact that it can't operate with out a computer. The whole place shuts down.
So were taking off for his new biologic injection, and he'll have to sit for two hrs. I'm packing him a lunch to take, and I'll go visit mom while he sits there. And buy apples for the basement at the Kroger Store. If they look ok. 50 cents a lb.

Is there another pharmacy that has those meds in stock. If so, perhaps the doc. can call in a one time prescription to alternate pharmacy while WG gets their act together.

They have it in stock, it's not a stocking issue, and it's not just Walgreens. The company that does the billing for Medicare was hacked. So no insurance or coverage can be verified for anyone. So you can have it, you just have to pay cash for it when normally it was fully covered. Anything owned by Change Healthcare. United Healthcare is just one of them.

Ugh, I'm sorry. Can you get a reimbursement from healthcare? I'm just throwing out ideas here - it's sad that folks have become so drug dependent (for various reasons) and that our system allows such happenings as this hacking (& yes, I do believe if it were O'bid's bank account, it would have been resolved ASAP).

Not sure. He's not totally out of it, has a month's worth, at least, I'm sure. And yes, we could pay for it if we had to, but we pay for supplement insurance as it is, and that's what's been hacked. Pretty bad if you can't get your drugs because you can't verify coverage. So, he pointed out his history with those two drugs at Walgreens, that showed they have always been covered, and he's paid nothing for them. This history goes back years and years. But nope.

So were taking off for his new biologic injection
Is that replacing IV antibiotics or something unrelated? Wondering what is down the road for DH, although he is still doing well. We have one RX that hasn't been filled yet. Not sure if the hacking problem is involved or not. He has them mailed from VA pharmacy in Jackson.

It's called fasenra, it's for asthmatics with high allergies. Doesn't work for everyone, and may not work for him, but they want to try. Since they'll never get his prednisolone down. He takes 40 mg a day of that at the moment. Sometimes higher. Has for over 50 yrs. The bummer with this new injection is the two hr wait. It's in the bigger town, so I can leave him for an hr, then come back and see if he needs bathroom help, leave again. I'll see how it goes. I have a book with me. We'll be doing this weekly. Doubt that your husband's rx will be affected if he's VA, because Tricore wasn't hacked. My husband is not a veteran.

snappy, so sorry about Oreo. That could not have been an easy decision. Sending you hugs.

Amish Heart, I wonder if the Medicare hack affected things over here because the pharmacy said they were having trouble with insurance last week and one of Mom's prescriptions was going to be over $100 until they re-ran it and it was $15. But they are taking their sweet time filling her new meds that she needs asap. I hope things get resolved for you quickly. That has got to be really tough on people who are out of meds and can't afford to pay cash.

I took out my bathroom trash, swapped out some trash bags-- the old ones for Mom's bathroom were too flimsy for her larger trash can but work for my smaller one-- put the newer heavy duty ones in Mom's bathroom. She didn't like the Gain scented bags anyway so I put those in my bathroom and gave her the Citrus scent.

Took out Mom's new computer and sealed it up with electrical tape and added more dust screen over vented areas. Had some trouble with the magnets sliding around for the dust screens so I taped and then covered gaps. Saw some plastic vents that had dust screen behind them, but the roaches could hide in those slits so I covered them. Got the cables that plugged in to the back of the old pc cleaned up with 91% alcohol and then got the new PC in place. Had to move some of the tape bc I had the wrong HDMI port covered and ended up only having 3 USB ports that were used. Hopefully the roaches will stay off of it. Mom sprayed RAID in there, but I might add some diatomaceous earth. I had to replace the old HDMI cable bc it wasn't working with the video card. Had a spare one in a box from a black friday sale.

Now I need to make sure the computer connects to the internet and get Mom's favorite games re-downloaded and set up so she can play them.

Called the pharmacy to find out if Mom's meds were ready and it wouldn't let me speak to a live person but said the RXs would not be ready until tomorrow after 4pm. Not good enough. Need to call them back after their lunch break and say I need them today asap.

At least my sinus infection and ear infection are cleared up now.

Depending on the item, it could be affected, Snappy. United Healthcare bought Change Health care. His other meds (a million of them) aren't a problem except these two that are run on Medicare pt B thru United Healthcare. He found a Reuter's article on the hacking (ransomware) and they don't know when it'll be resolved. Bummer. Hope your mom's meds aren't affected, Zannej.
Husband had his new shot, and after I got him settled to wait, I went and got a strawberry milkshake for mom and went to visit her. She said she hasn't seen me for years! And that I looked good! She cracks me up, I never know what I'm going to get when I visit her. At least she doesn't think she's a hitman anymore. Then off to the bin store, where I didn't find much today. Boxes of women's feminine products, those I keep a stock of for when our three daughters visit. They always seem to need them, all three of them at the same time. Then the Kroger store, where there were no 50 cents a lb apples to be found. I bought a few things on sale, but really, they are pretty expensive to shop at. Knorr rice mixes were 99 cents if you bought 5. I got some of those, and some produce items. Can't wait for the garden to be up
and going again for fresh stuff. A cold wind is starting up. It'll be a cold night. Almost time for a fire.

It took a little time to come about, but ...No Good Deed... or fun time... goes unpunished it seems...
Almost everyone that went on the Valentines Day casino bus trip has come down with a cold of some kind.. Luckily my version was a few days of runny nose and a long day of toilet ...issues... That is all so far... Knockonwood...

The snow we got Valentines day is long gone and today to be 61/35F... Then 2 days of near seasonable and 60F again through the weekend... Seasonable, but still quite warm for late Feb, early March..

Maple sap was running earlier.. I don't know if the roll-a-coaster temp of late have affected that or not.. Not sure what quality the sap is, so it might be a difficult year for that.. I think there are buds on some trees along the creek and swamp near here.. This makes me wonder if a late frost will be a problem for many things... Did my volunteer thing at the food shelf last week and will do again tomorrow..
== ==
Much cooler this Tuesday morning.. To the food pantry and volunteered this morning.. A light day there.. Home, nap, now this afternoon overcast, variable gusty sharp cold wind.. Snowing small tiny flakes.. Streets are wet and sticking a bit in the grass.. Todays temps 34/5F.. Thursday through Sunday predicted highs 60/70F... Daylight savings time coming in a bit more than a week now..

Otherwise hope all are doing OK..

Mostly just goofing off today. We had about a foot of snow yesterday and over night with high winds. 14 degrees this morning. I made a sweet bourbon brine for jerky. I'll get the smoker going in the morning. The girls were cooking most of the day. They made some Pad Thai for lunch and sushi for dinner tonight. The sun is shining right now and about 24 degrees, so they decided to take a hike. I'm just keeping the house and fur shed fires going. They wanted me to go with them but I declined. They talk too much.

Drank coffee. Worked. Helped a coworker in another state with a glitchy database. Listened to a two hour webinar on utility sector threats (probably will have nightmares). The boys are doing freezer Tetris now after my folks picked up the beef and delivered our half. 320lbs of meat and another 30lbs of fat. I asked for all the fat, I will grind it tonight so I can get it into freezer packages ready for rendering or to use in sausage. Plan on having spaghetti for dinner. Maybe drink a couple of peach cordial vodka tonics. Should probably take a walk …

Cooked for Mom and had a lot of aggravation trying to help her get things set up with her new computer. That woman will not listen and argues instead of doing a simple task. How hard is it to hold down a button on her headphones until the light flashes? Not hard. Will she do it? No. Why? Because she doesn't remember that she had to do it with her old computer and I'm about to have a blood vessel pop.

gaah The Russians have begun taking out our satellites!!!
Several of our DirectTV channels went out today, and I was just sure that's what it was.
Well, no.:(

DirectTV: Update: Some satellite customers are temporarily unable to watch HD channels because of a satellite positioning issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate our customers’ patience while we work to bring the satellite back online.

Had a truck serviced today not an 18 wheeler, My son has a RAM 3500 Cummins diesel.

I expected a high bill, I don't know how many of you all have these, but WOW I never expected oil, oil filter. 2 fuel filters, air filter, cabin air filter to be $872.00 most of it was parts.

Done at the dealer to maintain warranty and it has 2 recalls to be fixed when the parts get there.

Need to hire this thing out on off days HEHEHEH.

Other than that a good day waiting for my first peppers to put on blooms.

I've got Dishnetwork and Starlink but didn't have outages. Sorry your DirecTV isn't getting the HD channels.

Got some things set up for Mom so she can watch Youtube and hopefully will be able to play her games soon. She's listening to her favorite singer now and will hopefully be feeling better. I'm going to eat some chocolate chip cookie dough (the kind that is safe to eat without cooking).

Most HD channels are still just fine, the HD channels that are off are still available on LD (which are not on my channel list, because I am spoiled and despise LD:mad:).

Odd day off today, the lady I would have worked for has the latest bug that's going around! Since summer has temporarily ended here in north central Texas, I'll get some cleaning done here at home. I'll probably run some errands too. I don't like driving into town if I'm not going to work, but I have several little stops to make so I'll probably go get them done. Definitely taking a nap today!!
