I am holding one here in Indiana at the North KOA in Elkhart/South Bend. People just need to reserve a spot there and tell me that they are coming. But no one has messaged me about it.

I didn't g et any interest in the Mid Atlantic, NE, or SE regions. I'm still open to a M&G, but if I don't get more interest, I'm going to end up hosting a family reunion, since it'll be all my family showing up!

It may not be lack of interest, but in my case there is just no way I could get away at this time. It's harvest time for me and it's either pick and preserve or let everything rot . . . . it seems like it is always one thing or another around the homestead

i think thats the issue with most here.busy picking n canning.plus the jobs folks have as well..im thinking of going ahead and haveing me another camp out any how.i gotta have one time to time.. :D

I can appreciate that. The polls reflect people wanting to get together in summertime. The reality of it is different for everyone, though. I think many folks were saying that they were hoping to do summer because the kids would be out of school. Maybe we ought to look at doing different events through the year. If folks can make it, great. Absolute worst case, it'll give options.

I keep thinking that there's so many people in Texas that I'm suprised there aren't prepper rallies/meets all the time. Then I remember how big Texas is. You could be your own country.

yeah..there's so many within a 2 hour drive of me..it's scary that we haven't met up and all
I could handle two hours, but not the 18 or so it would take me.

Texas is a big state for sure, but just think; if you cut Alaska in two, Texas would be the third largest state.

Since I don't like being around a bunch of people (crowds bigger the 2) I will pass on an meet and greet. I would vote for a meet and greet in the valley of the sun, here in say July or August, when it is nice and warm. :D

Well, keep yourself around a group of 2.....but you can still meet new people. excuse yourself if the number goes higher. We all have different things we deal with. I dont like crowds because im an epileptic

Sorry to hear about the epilepsy. Is it intensified by having too many folks around? Mine is simply I am anti social (hermit type) and don't like folks behind me.

Me too, but it's been completely under control for 28 years now.

If you don't meet people, how on earth will you trade and find people with skills you need?

Heck, we had enough issues when hunny had his surgery and we spent the night away from home. Way too many responsibilities to leave for very long. We have a very good friend who would in an emergency but I would not ever take advantage of it it wasn't an absolutely neccessary.

I think the idea of the Meet and Greet was dropped mostly because we're all scattered around the country. There really isn't a good central location for people to meet. I'd be willing to travel a state or two away but couldn't go much further.
It's really hard to coordinate an event for more than about 2 people too.

this i understand about 5 years ago, i had a group.....so many people moved, lost touch and it just became to hard to jeep up with

With today’s lifestyles and everyone being so busy it really is hard to make time for things you would like to do. I work our business and on our property and preps here at home, and take care of my wife as best I can. That dosent leave a lot of free time left. I am going to go camping very soon come he’ll or high water though. I like camping a lot, and you do meet some interesting people in campgrounds. Outdoor types at least usually have a lot in common with the prepping lifestyle.

Your area is great after the Quartzsite gem show, Jan/Feb. A lot of bug out vans and RVs plan to already be there. (hint hint) But, yes - - there's more than 2 people.
