Having a similar interface to YouTube, Daily motion is another video streaming website like YouTube that is popular among the users. Parler is more twitterish in that you follow people and it's not as social as facebook.

The closest Facebook alternative I have seen is mewe.com. You can find me there : www.mewe.com/i/davedemoss1

The youtube like video service Parler touts is Rumble. I have not explored there as yet. Rumble.com
 
Good thread. I have avoided joining Parler primarily to not put the Scarlet T on my forehead. That is very dangerous in these days. Also, I limit social media as much as I can.

I am still on Facebook, but over the past couple years I’ve block or removed affiliation any of the groups except for two (non political) and limit being friends to true friend and family. And if any friends are political on Facebook I either block or remove them as friends. I’ve deleted being friends with a sister and her entire family for being leftist on Facebook, and would have done the same if they were activist conservatives. So Facebook content is puppy dogs, hiking trips, quotes and comments on scripture and other such harmless content. If someday I am hung for the lampposts for scripture quotes, so be it. But it won’t be for politics, guns, prepping, etc. I realize that there is still risk for being on Facebook, but I really like puppy dogs, and to be my friend on Facebook, you have to have them. 🐶

It does bother me greatly to be part of the Zukerbutts network, so I am very open to a change which is why I posted in this thread so I can track responses.

I just read about Rumble this morning.
It appears even Parler isn’t safe from censoring either. Noticed it yesterday.
Not impressed with Parler anyways. Don’t think I will be a member long.
Looking into how to delete my Instagram account this week.

It is so hard to set up acount, find your way around the sites. I haven'r decided which youtube alt I want yet. Plus some charge a fee now so don't wanto to give out CC info either,so not sure what I'll do.

Guardian are there any sites out there thats not google aka zuckerburg, twitter connected? Or is the web just a place for them to keep us under wrap or surveillance?
 
I signed up on MeWe a year or 2 back, Parler more recently. But haven't spent any time on either. Parler seemed to be a sucker to draw in conservaties to highlight them.
I never got into twitter or instagram. I do have a FbB page, that started off as a way to keep up with more sitant relatives and folks I went to school with. The longer I am there the more I realize I never really knew folks I went to school with very well. Or some changed drastically over the years. Now days i try and keep my mouth shut and just read the other sides spewing. The better to learn and recon from ya know.
BTW I used to be all nice and quite. Now days it is really hard for me to keep my mouth shut. :ghostly: You all can attest to that.
 
i never got into twitter but parler is an alternative i check out sometimes, its under bnig tiome attack now TPTB demand they adopte some nasty censorship rules i read today

rumble for youtubes of my favorite guys
gab is sort of a facebook i think
i dont use alot of that stuff but mostly youtube to watch news then rumble for those kicked off youtube
people needt o draw a line in the sand of what they will accetpo or not
if we keep participating in organizations or do business with companies that hate america and want t o make it over in to their socialist workers paradise then we deserve what comes.
if half the county, the conservatives stopped using those businesse4s their ad revenues would sink.
hit them in their $$$ its what they do to try to take down their opposition,
otherwise its business as usual and they win
 
I joined Daily Motion. It looks like it has good potential but the way these places get taken over you never can tell. I have so many news sources and vloggers that I follow on Youtube that it would be really hard for me to give it up. Since they don't like much of the content I follow, they'll probably be the ones ditching me. I joined Mewe a while back but haven't done much with it. It might turn into the best alternative. We'll see. I have a Facebook page but I only joined because of some quilting groups and I almost never post even on those.

I installed Parlor and doh! I just realized I did a dyslexic and . ..

I installed Parlor and not Parler!

No wonder why it didn't make sense.

Amazon is now giving ParlEr the boot. They have been using Amazons web hosting service. From my understanding they are currently scrambling to move to a different server.

If they disappear for a bit, wait it out.

Parler IS down as of this morning. They told the users that they are doing their best to get new servers (their own) and get back up. They are not gone.
