Torque is what makes "PULL" and there are only two ways to make torque; More cubic inches or more cubic inches!
A blower makes more cubic inches from a smaller engine but when you mount a blower on a big engine it makes a lot of torque!
You need RPM to make horsepower but you have to start with torque because HP is built on torque over RPM. Off the top of my head it is 33000 Ft. Lbs per minute makes 1 HP??? Torque is cylinder pressure times the length of stroke times the area of the cylinder. and HP is that times the number of strokes per minute. (I think I remembered that right) :)

Very nice Jim

Thanks,

I still have that need for power and speed at my age.

This one does it for me.
Ford Performance did this one right.

Stock...under 13 seconds 1/4 mile.
0-60 5.2 seconds.

Stock is 400 hp. A $500 dollar Palm Beach tuner gets (500 - 560 hp) down to 11.8 in 1/4 mile and 3.8 seconds 0-60.

Its truly built to be badass.

Its also all wheel drive , still will spin the tires a little , but mostly just goes.
3.0 liter V6 twin turbos, does 25 -26 mpg on hwy. Has lots of room for 6 grown up s and every hi tech option you can think of.

It not only has driver assist , it has lane centering.
I tried it coming home yesterday. Stayed center of lane in a serious S curve without hands on the steering wheel.
Amazing.

This is the same type of 59 Lincoln I bought from a service station for $40, that was the cost of the repair bill against it and the owner never came back for it. I pulled the engine and sold the rest for salvage. I found a 59 Ford PU for around $100 and installed the 430 cu. in. engine in it, rolled the truck on the way home one night, later found a 1951 Ford PU and installed the engine in it, probably one of the most fun vehicles I've ever owned, it was a "Rat Rod" before they were known as rat rods, with the horse power and torque that engine put out, it was fast, if I remember the engine had around 375 hp. and 500 ft. lbs of torque, by installing a Carter AFB E series carb it probably raised the hp. to about 400. It was ugly but dear to my hotrodding heart.

Old School Gasser and Altered Drag Racing.

Old School GASSER and ALTERED Drag Racing at the "Out-a-Sight Drags" event Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wisconsin. Check out some great old school burnouts, Vintage Drag Racing and wheelies all from cars pre 1967 and older.

Been there many times.
Only lived 40 minutes from it .
Great memories.

Jim

That's neat being so close to them👍. I really enjoy racing, even in boats . Love to hear the engines power. One of my brothers who lives right near, Atlanta Motor Speedway, in Hampton Ga. Him and my younger brother who lives there to, they both use to do security guards, on the side from their regular jobs, for them, during races.:)

This was the first car I ever built. I built it over my junior year in high school and drove in through my senior year. When I got it the thing was completely tagged out. I jerked the Pontiac 400 out and built a 350 Chevy for it. The Pontiac motors would sling rod bearings if you turned them much over 5000 rpms. I backed it up with a 4 speed auto and some 411 gears. I fixed the body up and my dad helped me paint it in the garage. I had the interior done in red crushed velvet tuck and roll it was about the tackiest thing you would ever see. Not anything close to car porn but I was awfully proud of it back then.

411 rear gear was what I put in my Superbee. A set of Hooker headers was all that car needed.

It was more than most guys could handle.

What I wouldn't give to have it back today.
