Camping under a full moon is awesome... we'd climb under a full moon at J. Tree, the visibility was excellent and one could see most of the holds no problem. Sometimes we'd just don our climbing shoes & chalkbags and roam around an outcrop... some of the outcrops were large, so we'd spend an hour or two cruising around and pulling what amounted to a series of boulder problems.
One night, our moonlight wandering brought us to a deep slanted crevice about 5' or 6' wide... I studied the gap for a moment, then leapt across to the far side. My friend was somewhat drunk, and smaller to boot, so when he leapt, he landed with a splat on the far rim, then slid down into the crevice (about 12' deep). We got him out of there alright, but next morning he had a huge raspberry 'hipper' that curtailed his climbing activity for the rest of the trip, lol.
