Groceries could go up 10-14%

We converted my office to a 2nd walk-in pantry so we could buy in bulk. And we bought a side by side to put in the utility room. Box and can goods are a lot cheaper in bulk. Buying hamburger (95-5) from a local farmer for $4 a lb. When you fry up a lb you get a teaspoon of liquid because it is so lean.

The government says stupid stuff like inflation is 2% up over a year ago. Baloney.
Due to the nature of how I post grocery deals on my deals page, I keep a record of hundreds of prices for Amazon and the stores. That makes it easy to watch the price increases.
If Amazon wasn't still doing the coupon/multi-discount sales on groceries, I don't know how I would eat.
Target, Walmart, and the supermarkets have had some very sharp price increases in the last several months.

Yes they have, which is why I'm so glad I had my storage and am just adding what I can when on sale to the storage.
Never gave amazon a thought with groceries. And I have no idea what you mean with the coupon/multi-discount sales.
What "deals page" are you referring to?
Did I miss a thread on here somewhere?

been watching some coffee prices--tasters choice columbian i used to pay around $8.95r the standard 7 oz jar---now $19. yesterday on walmart it jumped to $18.95 for a few hours and amazon is $19. this morning on walmart i see it went back down to $8.95. maybe someone likes messing with us but im gonna get some more coffee while i can afford it .

I got this from my friend Dave in Missouri. He picked up a part time job in his retirement managing the buying/pricing of goods for a small grocery chain.

We had two reps from our warehouse in yesterday. They said grocery prices are taking a dramatic increase. An average of 16% across the board. Crisco and Wesson oils are 20% across the board. Speculation is coffee as much as 35%. Get prepared folks.

We went to town Monday for our monthly trek and prices have increased quite a bit since last month. Gas is up too. It jumped to 3.49 last week, now back down to 3.29.

Not to mention canned veggies were virtually none existent, paper goods were very thin, paper towels and TP, paper plates were non existent. We are eating fresh vegies so no affect there. We start tomorrow putting up our Michigan grown sweet corn for the winter.

We buy a lot on line from Sam's club. They are usually a lot cheaper than Amazon.
I get some stuff from Sam's, but I get most of my shelf stable foods and household essentials from Amazon when they hit rock bottom. WAY cheaper on most stuff than Sam's and Walmart.

It was on sale at Amazon recently for $5.52 for the 7oz jar.

Coffee and canned tomatoes are two things that are supposed to be in short supply.

We have had Prime for years. Lately I have noticed them playing with the delivery dates. For example, say you order something that is supposed to be delivered on the 5th. It shows up on the 9th. By that time the delivery date on the original order has been changed to say the 17th. Then they comment that you got it early.

The Amazon grocery deals I take advantage of is keeping me off food stamps! I stock up when prices hit rock bottom.
I had already liked the deals page but fakebook changed all my settings for my timeline. I went and changed back to see the pages to show up on my timeline

It's not regional. I have members/followers from all over the country. You need an expert like me who knows how to find the prices when they hit rock bottom. ;)
And no I can't give away my trade secrets (besides, I have access to some sources that the general public doesn't. Also, the other deals bloggers might kill me LOL).
My living 100% depends on finding the best deals, and it took me a long time and lots of hard work to get where I am in this endeavor.

Amazon is run by machines.
Last item I bought, I searched it up and when I put it in my cart, it was magically $2 more.
I went back to the page and it magically now had the 'new price' on it too.
I can have my DW search up the same Amazon page and when she pulls it up, the price is cheaper than mine.
Do not underestimate the machines!!
"Rigged" is an understatement.

I noticed their price shifting after ordering the new freezer. First it was suddenly 179.99 after I paid 229.99 2 hours earlier then later on, today in fact I was going to go raise cain with them and it had gone up to 349.99. Right now it's 297.95

They often rotate through the 3rd party sellers. Always check the right side bar (or click "all sellers") to see if there's a cheaper price than the one you're looking at. I often find something cheaper that way than what the main listing shows.

Follow the bouncing ball... where it stops, nobody knows!:dancing:
Do you really think human beings were doing that? No.
Like when someone here had found a small, highly sought-after, unavailable, item on there.
Fortunately he was smart enough to notice the $900 in shipping  during checkout and didn't fall for it.
Beware of the "1-Click" purchase thing if you have a fat CC on file there. You wouldn't see that until it was too late. gaah

Same seller ladycat. I always check for the cheapest seller when you have no money you have no choice! lol

Superviser 42 I seldom ever order anything if it doesn't have free shipping. You are correct though about the one click deal and you have to watch out because they always try and change my orders to the fastest most expensive shipping I always have to switch it back to free and so many days.

Looks like my monthly trip out.

But yeah, I had the big price increase figured for a month back, so Anvil Joe is a bit more competent than I gave him credit for... Meh.

i hear on a show today that the ceo of tyson said to a stockholder meeting that the price of wholesale goods are rising faster than they can adjust prices---sticker shock coming in a month or so. seems like several other commies worrying aobut the same thing.

I'm curious... So... @Duncan .....Where is our savior and god.... you know, The one you preached to us about. If i recall, you voted for your socialist / communist pal.. Why are you hiding...?

This a downward spiral that will never go back up simply because all future elections like other communist countries will be only a show election with the outcome predetermined by those hiding behind the razor wire . To double the problem , those behind the razor wire are determined to steer the country into socialism . We are following the same path Venezuela went down . I hear the Venezuelans have long since ate all the dogs and cats and search the parks for a pigeon to take home to their family for a meager meal . --- Those that have planned and went forward with a self sufficient plan will be in the end the survivors of the catastrophic future .

Who's @Duncan and why would he admit do that for? hell. they stole the election here anyway.
Anvil Joe acted like a drunk Alzheimer's victim for the whole campaign? HELL, there WAS no campaign.
Sure Trump acted like a spoiled A-hole, BUT he DID know what he was doing!

I personally haven't seen a Duncan post in a long time . He is a Californian that left what the people there have turned into a sewer and migrated to a 2 or 3 acre homestead in Idaho . Unfortunately his mind set is still that of a typical Californian . -- I will give credit where due however as Duncan did acquire some milk goats and though not sure , some chickens .

I went to the local grocery today to pick up a bottle for a friend who did us a favor. The normal price is $26.99, but the sticker on it said $29.99. It still rang up at the old price though, so I went back and bought 2 more. It's always good to have extra stock for that friend on hand. I figured I might as well get it now at the regular price, since it's not like it's gonna go bad.

I glanced over at a shelf and saw miracle whip for $6.39  I nabbed some JennieO 32oz hams on special for $4 b/c their sell by date is at the end of the month. The price tag on the hams were $8.99. I bought 3 and threw them in the freezer so hubs can take them to hunting camp this fall and make breakfast and sandwiches out of them.

The grocery prices are going insane. I haven't visited this store in a long time b/c they were mask nazi's before summer hit and they ticked me off. I went in today b/c the parking lot was pretty empty. I'll be going on another trip to a town further away within the next week or so and stock up on vegies and sales.

I'm tempted to stock up on PM's even more, since those prices have actually eased a bit recently. But, with this inflation, I don't expect that to last.

Don't get me wrong, while we obviously do not share the same views, his responses were always well written. I have a few customers that voted for the one in office. We have this conversation from time to time with each other and it seems many have now seen the reality of their mistakes. Others see nothing wrong.

One thing everyone seems in agreement on is that the US is in a bad way. Prices for everything are skyrocketing and it is the direct result of the political climate and the activities / inactivities of those in power.

@UrbanHunter

I agree. I don't harbor any ill will and hope everything is going as he desires.
