I have been working on a couple quilts lately. One is for a granddaughter when she gets into her big girl bed and trying to get it as close as possible to her big sisters I did for her. They won't be exactly alike but compliment each other nicely. Then another that will be a gift for one of the four boys.
I have had just a basic model Brother since my high school graduation so it's been around for a good many years and has done me pretty good over the years but for the last couple we've had the love hate relationship. My tension always seems to slip and need readjusting. Yesterday morbing, I could only get it to hold for maybe an inch before it started messing up again. By 4 o'clock I grabbed my checkbook and started out the door for Joanna since they had a 40% off sale. Hunny asked where are you going. . . Me, so you want to come along. He has been after me to get a new machine for awhile. Well my plan was to just get the basic Singer for $85. Figured I'd I took my Brother in, it would have been at least $60 to service so why not just get a brand new one.
Well hunny bought me a new Singer that is good for quilting since that is what I mainly do. I was amazed at how fast things were going after we got it home and I started to play around with it. But fish darn it, I accidentally sewed 2 1/2 squares together that shouldn't have been. Instead of ripping all those out, I am just going to recut to replace those and see them with the right colors together. Apparently I was just happy to be able to see again.
Went to sleep at around 9:30 last night and woke up at almost 1 am. I'm like a kid the night before Christmas! So I am having my morning coffee and about to start sewing again.
Happy Thanksgiving yall!!
