In Guam they built their houses on stone pillars called latte stones. Seems that would make sense for houses in flood prone areas. I suppose there is concern that higher houses might get blown away or picked up more easily, but flooding is no good either. Not building in a flooding area would be wiser. I remember a story about some natives who told the new settlers not to build down by this one lake because it was "cursed" & anyone who built there died. The newbies laughed at them and completely ignored it. Built their village close to the lake. A cloud of toxic gases rose out of the water and wiped them all out.

Some of the scratches I got from when my cats had their fight on top of me. Looks like one of them actually bit me.

I've had worse though. My other leg has some fainter older scratches all over. Looks like they used my leg as a scratching post but it doesn't show up well in pictures.

Was scrolling through old pics and found this one of a 32lb cat at the vet's office. He was so large they had to use the dog scale. He's actually standing in this picture but his fat covered his legs. His owner had to carry him around.

Painted the pump house and the outhouse today.
Before is the tan brown, after is the barn red. It was a bit difficult getting around the trench that was dug for the pipes from the well to the pump house.
Right now the well is a pvc pipe for standpipe but we have water!
Cheesy smile as I painted both today!

The smile of getting the thing DONE
For sure!
Sitting down to wine and cheese plate now. Maybe a movie later but we need to go through our GHBs also. I haven’t replaced it since our car got broken into in Seattle in May.
Always more to do!

We built a retaining wall near the house and put up a cover since we have been here. First pick is now second pic is when we bought the place.

Now that is a great porch. Folks don't sit on their porches anymore... I miss it, can't sit on mine in summer. My house is brick and faces south. Here in Bama the sun bakes it all day. The brick wall is still warm at midnight. Too hot to sit out there unless its raining.

Just to have porch plants I use a product called plant shade. Comes in a roll 8' x 40', sold by the percent of Uv rays it blocks. I use 50% blocker.

Does yours face the sun? That rock wall will really help cool in summer. Wanna trade porches? Kidding, on sunny winter days my porch is comfortable. I sit out for a bit sometimes, out of the wind too.

Chicken coop looks good. I have to get busy on my pen. Let myself get distracted.

Here's the chicken coop inspector... let him take a look! 😁

My little friend at work. I've been giving peanuts. I like watching it fill up its cheeks, run off to unload n back for more.
Now it brings a friend..maybe I'll see babies next spring :)
This is off my back deck at work where I get my sticks unloaded..

I thought you had got into poison. My cousin's cat got into poison oak and she was petting him and transferred it to her face. She had to go to ER last night

Yikes that’s terrible!
Nope just splashed paint on myself 😂
Going to paint the inside while the hubs sets up the solar panels - and get the shed ready to put the inverters in.

Keep up the great work! Homesteading is not easy! But most here won’t understand that!

Did they have any good ideas?!? LOL
Yes, she did!
It's an F117
Yes, it looks like a 'Stealth Fighter'---good angle on it, makes it look like a UFO or something.
Angles sure appear to be a F117. Great shot
F117, Stealth Fighter, nah!! It's a person in one of them there flight suits!🤨 He did a good job riggin' lights on it don't ya think?!?
The one I saw and the one in the video I snagged the pic from were going so slow an F117 or any other known plane would have dropped right out of the sky! Notice its not like any of the normally seen triangles.

My youngest study buddy Meg, Beans in one of his many sleeping poses, some of the last of my tomatoes, Asters just blooming now, and Indy on his 5th birthday
