Fort McAllister near Savannah Georgia. This was an earthen fort that guarded the Great Ogeechee River entrance to Savannah Georgia's rail lines and rice fields. This fort was the last obstacle to Sherman on his infamous "March to the Sea" after burning Atlanta Georgia. This fort held off numerous attacks by sea until it finally fell to ground forces as Sherman neared Savannah.
Katrina damage Gulfport Mississippi. 2 days after it struck. Hand made panoramic scenes. The pinkish colored building in the highway is a floating casino. It was too big to move so they blew it up and then removed the pieces 2 weeks after I left.

I've been to the top of Mt. Suribachi.
When I was on shore duty in Atsugi, they would send a det. out there so the squadrons attached to the Kitty Hawk could practice landing on the air strip. We did a mandatory run to the top of the mountain.
Complained about it at the time and now you realize just how significant that it was.
Black sand beaches, old caves and bunkers to explore, guys would find old Japanese guns and relics from the war. They searched your bags when you left to make sure we didn't bring back an old grenade or something.
Wish I would have taken pictures, instead I just bitched about being sent out there while on shore duty...sometimes I wish I could beat the snot out of my 22 year old self...
I have been to the San Diego zoo twice, and both times they had two headed snakes on display. Twenty seven years between visits, so probably not the same snake each time.
I’m still refiling photos, came across this tonight. A big goofy horse I used to own, his name was “Moose” only bought him to help someone out of financial bind. He was bred to be a “Barrel Racer”. 3/4's Kentucky Thoroughbred and 1/4 Quarter horse. He was the fastest horse I’ve ever ridden… and he loved to run! His walk was as fast as some horses trot.
He was no end of amusement though, goofy, always doing something silly. The first time I took him out for a ride it was down an old road in front of the house, little more than trail. 1/2 mile in he came up lame. I got off and walked him all the way home. An hour later in the pasture I noticed he was no longer lame…
I took down that road again a couple of days later. Same thing, 1/2 mile and he came up lame. I wasn’t buying it this time! After another 1/2 mile and he returned to his normal gait… he realized I knew he was faking it!!
