I've seen a lot of electric fences in my time.
Been shocked by them more than several times.
I saw this one and thought it was picture-worthy.

I built one before they outlawed them in the 80's. They are extinct now (illegal).
Cut wood standing up with one hand instead of bending over. No sore back.

Had some experience with the ole bow saw. Working in the log woods and they put me on the deck to cut the timber into the required length. Bucked up on me about twice and I laid her down.( man working next to me had a terrible scar on his neck from almost cutting his head off with one.) Wound up operating a cable tractor and worked my way up to a grapple tractor. Worst 30 days of my life.
And that's the reason they are extinct.
They require learning to use. Like you can't just pick up a cello and expect to play a cello concerto by Elgar.
Once you learn it however, you can make beautiful music that is impossible with any other saw.
I can easily cut twice as much as a guy with a straight blade that has the same horsepower.
And my back won't hurt.

I grew up around logging. Daddy and uncles followed a saw mill here from the mountains of N.C. I was to young to work with the family operation and it dissolved by the time I got old enough. Brothers stayed with it with some bigger companies. Oldest living brother still works in the woods now. He operates a stumper feather buncher or whatever they are called these days. I was able to see a bow saw in action on many occasions but it wasn’t my cup of tea. Standing on a pile of logs cutting with that beast was dangerous in the wrong hands.Especially while trying to stay outa the way of the skidders bringing another load of logs to the deck. Now days the loader cuts it into saw logs. No need for deck hands. Brother worked for the swamp loggers that was on tv before they were the swamp loggers. Works for the guys brother now. Hard life but he loves it
