Me too Doc, me too but personally and definitely respective your opinion as equally valid, I note that the USSR / Russia paid a terrible price in 1941 to grab some of your land, and during the Cold War over 60 years the USSR / Russians destroyed their economies completely by trying unsuccesfully to take over the west with invasions, tanks and AK 47s.

The left has learn its lessons well, now instead of invasions they use diplomats, instead of tanks and guns they use lawyers and burocrats. Militarily even today it would be costly in lives and money to try and force the Finns to give up their Sakos and Valmets and surrender the mineral rights to their land.

BUT both the EU and the Russian Federation can simply either BUY your industries or more evilly , use the EU burocracy to disarm you, grab your ore mines and fishing rights by simply controlling the EU. The EU can do more damage to Finlandia, Scandinavia or the UK with a lawyer or burocrat than they can ever do with force.
 
The left can and is taking away ALL of our rights, freedoms and national identities by using the unelected, undemocratic, faceless burocrats in Brussels with the wave of a pen, Its easier to disarm a people by passing gradual laws slowly tightening the screws until they are powerless, than to go kicking doors in and trying to sieze those guns by force.
 
Oh and if any Merkins are reading, don't start being smug the left are doing the exact same thing in the US , just moving a bit more slowly than they are over here, A little new law, a new regulation, ban on big magazines, new anti terror laws, turning cops into Para Mils etc. The Americans are looking to their fronts for the boogyman to come and grab their guns ( cold dead fingers etc) but they don't NEED to come kicking in your door, they have time, burocrats and corrupt politicians working slowly and quietly to disarm you over a 100 years.
 
Vlad and his oligarchs can be bought, Stalin et al could not, I would look towards Brussels to see what nasty things the left including Russia is doing rather than towards Moscow and its money grabbers.
 
we had a long stretch here that private russians bought a summerplace for them,now the trend is that they are selling them,more and more,a small idicator that the financial situation isn't good in russia, that's one reason for mad-Vlad to put up a campaign of national pride,but in the long run it will not feed his people and something more spectacular has to be done to keep 'em happy and satisfied and full with nationalpride
 
and those cronies in brussels, haven't trusted them in a long long time,but I still vote when it's time for that,I can atleast bitch about when things are poorly managed ;)

If you want a non-hypothetical analogy, the closest one in U.S. history would be the removal of the Cherokees in the Trail of Tears. Not as brutal as what the Soviets did, but had the same effect. Americans, however, have generally come to understand and regret the injustice that was perpetrated on the Cherokees. The Russians have no remorse whatsoever over what they did to the Ukrainians and Crimeans, and are taking full advantage.
 
I'm ever so greatfull to my grandpa and his generation that they sacrificied their youth and some theirs life to keep the russians away from Finland,I would propably live in siberia now if that generation hadn't fought for their life and survival of this country.
I have deep rooted recentment towards russia and I will never trust that country and its leaders
 
who says we cant live without them?(politicians that is).
 
I belive it goes for politicians aswell,we've had in this country center-socialist-,center-right-,socialist-communist governments,presidents of all kind,well the last one was that idiot lady who got us into banning landmines, and our last government includes more or less all parties,and god knows we have many,not that it gives any quality, and that last one messed up pretty much everything, a right-wing prime,socialist for economy,well the greeks got our money,spaniards got money,portugal got money and that duo had the nerve to tell us that giving money to these countries benefits us all...
yup,all politicians have morals of a cucaracha
 
I'm sure if there were a way to live without politicians, in the last 10,000 years of human history, someone would have figured it out by now. Oh sure, the mountain men eked out an existence without any authority figures to tell them what to do, but it seems that any time two or more people try to pool their resources, somebody has to be in charge.
 
People often assume Britain created its empire by simple military force when in fact most of its achievements were created by COMMERCE (backed up in time by force)
Britain got its jewel in the crown India by originally trading with a few Moguls in India and playing businessmen until in time we basically owned India, in return for railways, telegraphs, roads, schools, hospitals, and buying tea, spices, silks etc from India as it in itself developed to serve the empires needs.

People, warriors and leaders create countries, politicians and lawyers screw them up.
