Awww, Thanks, Chief.. Gonna make me get all verklempt.. *sniff* :) Nope, we ain't Dead! Just Been on a Hardcore 4 month 'gauntlet', during which:

- Did several 'side jobs' across 2 States (~900 miles in 1 week..) ..but then..

- I drove (for a Job..) Back / Forth entirely across the US (Ca > NY and Back..) - within 10 days.. o_O

- ..and, Second-day Into the 'Drive home', after Evading it successfully for 3 yrs - Caught, (in NY :mad:) Fought, and Recovered from 'B.5' Covid.. And All withOut the help of the 'ClotShots', yeeah! Just took C / D / Zinc / Tumeric / IVERMECTIN :p, 2 Courses of Azythro, and a Gram of 'NAC', daily.. Not Too horrible, overall, no 'loss of smell / taste' etc, but Damn Cough lasted me for a Month +, and - still - occasionally coughing up a Glob of dead viral-detrius (no doubt..)

- Took a ~$30K / year Pay-Cut, in order to Land / Start a New Gig, here, Now working in the Ag-Industry (and Man - have learned a LOT in just a Month-in.. Very interesting / intriguing.. Details at 11.

- ..aaaaand, the Grandaddy: We up and told California where to Shove it, and said GeeeooudByeh!! after 27 yrs of puttin up with Excremento's Bull * We have Moved, and are now in SW AZ, and Lovin every minute of it here.. :cool:

SoJer, so glad you made it to a safer, less insane location. Sanity is a better deal than a few dollars as well! Congratulations and glad you are back!
 
Yes, Arizona is still a free state... all that squawking about it "turning blue" was just more proof of electoral fraud. I like how there are still impromptu public shooting ranges in the boondocks, and the fact that you can walk into a swap meet and buy firearms and the only 'paperwork' will be the transfer of C-notes from buyer to seller, lol. The farther out from the cities you are, the better Arizona gets... I really enjoyed my 2+ years in Show Low & 3+ years in Benson, the White Mountains & Cochise Stronghold are each radical in their own way. Great outdoor recreation to be had in either venue! And heaps of wildlife! Glad to hear you escaped from that lunatic asylum known as the Socialist Republik of Kalifornia! My only hope is that Arizona doesn't get flooded with folks fleeing from Kalifornia... one reason why I moved farther east into New Mexico, that and the insane real estate prices skyrocketing in Arizona. :confused:

Still, when ya first move from Kalifornia to Arizona, it's like decompression, lol... life is so much more relaxing in Arizona! As long as you're not in the Big City, that is... ya gotta stay in the boondocks for maximum relaxation effect, lol. :cool:

So, I go into the 'DMV' ("MVD", out here..) and since it was about 15 mins to Closing-time by the time I got there, after work, I was all-kinds of happy they 'let me In' / I was Able to get the task done, withOut having to 'make an Appt', and/or wait 4 hrs in some stinky-line, etc.. So, when I got to the Clerk, she looked to be Barely 18 / fairly new, etc.. So, in my 'jovial mood', I decided to 'play her' a little, so in reply to her polite 'How may I help you?', I replied:

'...Hi! Soooo, wondering if you can help me get this Really Nasty 'stain' off the back of my Van, here'... And (Lol..) she just looks at me kind of sheepishly, blinks a couple times, and and says, 'Umm, weeee.. don't really Do that here, soo..' So I chuckle, and say 'Hah! sorry, sweeheart, I'm just messin with ya.. I need to get this CA plate Off my Van, and get our AZ plates, as we just moved here a few weeks back.. <big grin> 'Hahaha, I get it, hah!' she chuckles, and goes about her task..

..Few short minutes later, she Prints out a page, and explains: 'OK, so it'll be $34. for One year, $56. for Two.. or $107. for Five years.. Which do you want to go with?...' Immediately recognizing a 'Glorious Op to be a SmartAss again' :p I act 'shocked' / concerned, and say '...ShhhhOooo.. $36 bux?? Do you guys, uh.. have any like, 'Payment Plans'??' (😆)

Again, she sheepishly blinks, and kindly says 'Uhh, well, not reaal...' At that point, I just bust out laughing, and 'let her off the hook', and say 'Hah! Sorry, I'm just messin with ya again, darlin! Do you have Any idea How Much I have-been paying - Per year - for my (nearly 20 yr old) Van in CA?? She shakes her head 'no', and I say 'Well, Im almost afraid to Tell ya, cuz then Yer price just might 'adjust!' (she laughs) And I tell her (the $364. / Year) '...That's not for Five years, darlin - that's Per Year!...' And she's like 'Omg, that's crazy', etc

..So I tell her 'So, yeah, I'm gonna 'splurge' and go for the 5 year Package for $107.!! 🤣 But the 'cherry on top', was - since I had Already 'budgeted' the $364. for CA, for Sept... I took the 'Difference', and waltzed right into 'Sportsmans Warehouse' down the road, and Bought $250. worth of Ammo (including the Hornady .50 cal, above - Thanks, HC :) ...just because I Could...) - and walked out - no 'Background check' or any other such Horse * - LMAO the whole way!! 🤣😂🤣🤣😅

Gotta Love it!! :cool: Yep - Eventually - the 'Zommies' will make their way out / over here, and 'infest' / infect, more and more, but.. As my Other CA Escapee Forum-friends have been preaching at me for 3+ yrs... It's Really, Really Nice to be 'back Living in America' again, Meantime.. :cool: Yep..

I have walked from Yuma to El Centro, not something I want to ever do again.
I fixed a tire on a film camera dolly on the set of Return of the Jedi in Buttercup Valley, West on I-8 to the rest area, turn South about a mile.

I do miss Mr. G's Green Chili Burritos.

I do not miss the sand......

Sojer, I laughed out loud when I first visited the MVD in Show Low and the gal told me it would cost $100 for a five-year registration and AZ plates... when she cocked an inquisitive eyebrow my way, I told her it would've cost at least $1000 in the Socialist Republik of Kalifornia. 🤣

Yeah, it sure is nice to live in the real world again! Urban Hunter, there's nothing wrong with sand, as long as you're at Glamis in a dune buggy with sand paddles, lol. Or a side-by-side with sand paddles... or a big ol' thumper with sand paddles... you catch my drift? 😉
