The Grandpa

“Grandpa you’re late. I was hoping you’d make it back before sun down. I’ll warm some supper for you. Something wrong Grandpa?”

I was sure I had kept my facial expression neutral. Other than her look of relief when I came in the door Lilly had barely glanced in my direction. For an eight year old she was very observant.
