    Cool, in my neighborhood they use fish hooks at the likely places a creeper would be.

    I use motion sensing lights, alarms and cameras.
    UV will degrade your fishing line tripwire so you will have to replace it at intervals. Nylon and cotton thread will light up like a neon sign if hit by black light.
    Nylon will also bounce IR and even conduct along it. Just for your information so you can decide if you need trip wires to use ... trip WIRE?

    I had an ex-Marine teach me how to set up a tripwire using wire or string, mouse traps, nails and shotgun shells. It was pretty fun to hear the boom when the wire gets tripped, but not sure I'd use it to defend my property under normal circumstances. Too ways for things to go seriously wrong.

    I like stake pits and leg traps myself, but then I can be a bit sadistic when someone threatens me.
