I'd like to offer this as a tribute to Curmudgeon :

[Lyrics]
Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

Last Friday night went to a 'Blues Jam'- where anyone who can play or sing joins in

I love Blues music!! Probably my favorite genre now. Thanks for sharing. Go to You Tube and enter Justin Johnson. See what you think.

1950s, 1960s, some 1970s and old country music are my favorite.
It's a lot better than that narcotics music you young whippersnappers listen to. That stuff'll turn you into a commie! 😁 :p🤣

I agree. Rap Music is the consummate oxymoron. At the risk of sounding like my father, I can't believe the garbage they listen to today.

Yeah. I call it 'rap crap'. In the 1980s and beyond, everything started sounding close to the same. I think the music corporations deliberately ignored unique and distinct singers who were all different and had their own talents to make it easier for them to make money.

I remember hearing that same thing back in the 60s and 70s. Turns out that for the most part is music that endures to this day
Rap Crap. I call it that too. Today is all automated, lip sync crap

My late brother-in-law...He was a corpsman, inspired one of my sons to join the military. He loved his brother (my husband) so much. Was making plans with my LH to move here and abruptly my LH was diagnosed with cancer. We try, don't we? 💙

Bye bye Miss American Pie

The Levee was a bar in New Rochelle NY (Don McLean’s home) they were drinking whiskey in Rye NY

When I was teaching, Friday afternoon included a bigger cleanup of the classroom than the rest of the week. Plants got a good watering, animal cages were cleaned, etc. The room would buzz from the activity. We listened to music during this time and this was the first song that the children would request. It is a song that they could easily learn and sing along with while doing whatever chores that they chose to do or that I assigned to them as a consequence for abusing something.

Listening to Kelly Hunt on youtube
My cousin Jay Dee is having a barn concert night next week and invited us. Us meaning a bunch of old people in comfy chairs in his barn listening to music, after eating potluck that we all bring. Fun night when he does this. Hoping husband feels well enough so we can make it, she sounds pretty good. Jay Dee is a bluegrass lover.
