Where's @MoBookworm1957 ???
How's that arm Mo? Strawberry still home? Babes growing? You okay?
Arm is sore, but healing slowly.
Strawberry went to live with my oldest son and oldest grand daughter.
Neighborhood kids kept trying to hit Strawberry with rocks, sticks, bikes.
It will be safer for her to live with them instead here with me.
It makes me so sad that it's not safe for her here.
And kids have so little respect for the elderly or other people's pets.
So I am without my Service Dog, because it wasn't safe for her.
My sons want me to move across the river.
But my dad is here.
And he has been ill.
So here I will stay for awhile longer.

Oh dear~ she is your buddy. It saddens me to think what children (& adults) do. That's a rock and hard spot for sure. Hope both you and your dad get to feeling better. At least Strawberry is with folks she knows & loves and gets to see you - and vice versa. Little E must be thrilled. You never know what will happen, and I pray it all works out for both of you - should say all of you.

Thank you.
Strawberry is one of Granny's Girls.
My oldest girl, then Estelle and lastly Baby Reign.
I will miss her not being with me daily.
But her safety means so much to me.
I want her safe.
So I'm sitting here with my eyes leaking.
But she has Estelle, my oldest son, 2 other kids to play with, fenced yard.
And she can bark all she wants.
But I can go visit her, Estelle and my oldest son.

Work has been rough since Covid hit. People in and out, and for some strange reason with half the lab working from home, there is more work than ever going on. It's been like a one legged man in a butt kickin contest at times. This too shall pass. I guess I just like to piss and moan to you folks. I need to stop that. Forgive me folks!!!

Wifes breathing hasn't been the same since she got covid. She actually is having a hard time over this than she did Covid.

On the good side Saturday we are heading to a nearby lake and a little cabin for a few days to try and de-stress and relax some. No wi-fi and not sure it'll even have cell service. Leaving work at 1 tomorrow to drop the dog off where we board her, then home to work in the garden a little.

I don't feel like anyone is bothered when we talk to each other about out trials and tribulations in this time in history. Knowing people are concerned and care plus just letting out steam is good for us sometimes. Take care.Hope you and the wife enjoy your time away.We want to go to the beach soon, but not on weekend. Its hard to find place on beach to park when its crowded plus don't like crowds.

MoBook so sorry you have to give up Strawberry for awhile I know you'll miss her. And hope your arm heals soon.I never did understand hurting innocent animals. its not good for the kid to be mean either.Nothing like a good ass whipping from a loving parent someimes to bring out the compasion in some kids. But now its against the law and many parents are absent.:huggs:

Remember what the serial killer TEd Bundy said about being cruel to animals ,he said he use to be mean to them too before he started on people.I think it was him that said it. they liek to see things suffer.

Doctors apt yesterday afternoon, no biggy, 6-month checkup. Everything looked good except bp 105/76, a little high. I’ve been feeling fine… This morning I get a call from an office girl at my doc’s office. My doc gave a message to a nurse, who gave it to another nurse who… The office girl who sounded like she was 12. Something off in my blood test. I asked a couple of questions the girl couldn’t answer, she got flustered, put me on hold while she talked to ?... Anyway, when she get back on the line..

“You NEED to go to the ER right NOW!” She sounded as though I might drop dead on the way to the ER. Again, feel fine, hmmm?

I spent the entire afternoon in the ER, 6hrs. I’m not buying what they are selling, yet. The er doc was, questionable. A 50yr old er doc in a small town? 1. He obviously doesn’t have a practice. 2. He’s not a specialist or surgeon 3. Probably not board certified in anything, else he wouldn’t be pulling er duty in a small town. If he liked the action and had skills, he’d be pulling er duty at a level one trauma center somewhere, not “Wide Spot in the Road, USA”.

They gave me a prescription with instructions to see my regular doc on Monday. As it happens, I know 6 plants that will do a better job than the med they wanted me to take. I have 2 of them in stock in my herb room.

This story is to be continued.

Tonight, I’m just worn out, bone tired. Oh, had a message on my machine when I got home. A lady called, said a repairman can be here Monday to fix my recliner. I have to call her back in the morning.

Hope its nothing serious and your ok. Get that BP under control. I didn't and me and docs caused me to have a stoke and lose part of my vision in both eyes. Don't play with it,its not called the silent killer for nothing. Can't take back your site or worse.

Yesterday I was feeling funky so I took it easy. Today I'm better so it may have been the bad tooth that had me down and the antibiotic is working.

Took my buddy over to the remodeling project so that he can inspect. He was pleased. I grabbed the impact driver for him to borrow to work on the crate engine he put in his Camaro. Then I spent the afternoon re-working the kitchen design to match what we had agreed may be good. I hope I am getting close. There are quite a few changes but the biggest is getting rid of everything along the left wall to allow room for a decent sized kitchen table.

The Princess approved of all of the cabinets for storage. My biggest disappointment is having to reduce the size of the window. But the bigger the window the less storage cabinets.

Tomorrow I will most likely being doing sheet metal work to build the manifold needed for the air return project that has been waiting for my attention.

Ben
That looks great! One bit of feedback: Make sure the framing for the window is high enough that you can run the vent pipe for the sink at least 6" straight up before it can go horizontal (but will need to slope at least 1/4" per ft up). Might want to angle it so it goes as close to the side of the window as possible. Alternative is getting an AAV but those can fail. Although, if you have enough space inside the cabinet and aim the trap arm right, you may be able to get the vent around the window without having to cut holes in the cripples or jack studs for the window to run the vent pipe. You could also do a loop vent as well, but that takes up more space under the sink. Also, while I have your attention: Hidden toekick storage for flat items or stuff you don't want visitors to find/use. Stuff you don't use often but want to be able to put away in a safe spot (or just have extra storage).
Another thing on the fridge-- something you probably already considered but I wanted to mention: Not all are the same size so you will want the space large enough if you ever have to get a taller one. A lot of them are pretty much the same width but they do vary in height.
If your sink cabinet has a false drawer face you might want to consider getting a tip-out drawer kit- can hold sponges, cleaning stuff, etc. Got one for my friend's kitchen & it works great.
You may be able to get a larger window if you raise cabinets up more or have taller cabinets. I have cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling (which is just under 9' tall). My kitchen window is at least 36" tall (not sure on width-- I think 30" but I need to measure again).
I have some pics for ideas (some are from my kitchen-- sorry for the poor quality of photo of cabinet over the window). Not sure where to get the hinges nowadays, but we have these cool pull down things that can hold small items-- cookbooks, etc. We are currently using it to hold dish rags.

Meanwhile, I went back after I cooled off to do more trash pickup. I filled another contractor bag & found a 30gallon bag I'd already filled with trash under the pile. Found one of mom's missing walking canes and found 3 of her slippers (one pair and a matchless one). Found my brother's boots too. It desperately needs to be vacuumed but there is nowhere to plug one in safely. I'm talking to mom about getting a cordless one that I can plug in in the pantry or something and use to vacuum wherever without having to worry about the cord reaching, getting tangled, or getting in the way. I cleared a good path so my brother could put mom's computer back without breaking anything (her desk started coming apart when he got the computer out). She was happy because I found some things she'd been looking for and she has her computer back.

Editing because I forgot to ask why the kitchen table needs to be on the left wall and not on the bare wall in the diagrams? Is there something over there? Too bad there's not enough room for one of those island type counters that has seating with taller chairs.

Mo, I'm so sorry you had to send Strawberry away because of nasty kids. It's a good thing I don't live around kids like that because I'd be sorely tempted to pop them with a BB gun for that. The parents really need to do something about that sort of behavior.

Hope you're all right, Peanut.
Sorry about Strawberry having to move, Mo.
Zannej, my cousin has the cookbook pull down in her kitchen and loves it.
More odds and ends around here today. Visiting my favorite cousin this afternoon. The fowl sale is tonight (once a month), and husband and I will be there helping with the food. Proceeds go to the amish school.

I hate, hate, HATE goatheads!!

We are at the surgery center for the kid. They took her back 20 minutes ago and poor Ruby is out of her mind with worry. Every little sound and she's ready to run and find the kid. View attachment 65038
Big prayers everything goes well and Ruby will have worried for naught. 🙏

Thanks LadyLocust. Its supposed to be a 15 minute procedure and (by pure chance) her cardiologist is here assisting another doc so he is onsite if there are issues. Its the pre and post OP that are going to take forever. I hate waiting.....

Prayers that everything goes well with your daughter's surgery.

Goat heads. Do you know what the plant looks like? I pull them when I see them and put them in the trash.

Thanks Weedy. I've pulled more goathead plants than I care to remember. Just be careful when you start digging around the base of the plant in case the original goathead is still there! Its a nasty surprise to grab hold and stab yourself. In glad they don't grow on our mountain. They can't take the winters.

I've been poked many times pulling them. One time, I was walking in a park close to my house and saw that the horseshoe area was so full of them. I stopped and pulled as many as I could until the 55 gallon barrel was full. I went by and looked a year or so later and there were none. My guess is that they were sprayed, because there is no way that some wouldn't have come back. The area was covered.
When I see a dog stop in its tracks and lift a paw, I know it has a goathead in it's paw.

Good morning!
Already paid bills.
Rainy morning here, so will walk and walk dogs after 1 pm.
Will study and/ or start paperwork for personal representative.
Will write a few eBay drafts.
Quiet day!

@MoBookworm1957 , don't you need a service dog? Are you ok without one?

I never heard of a goathead. We have stickers here we call kuckleberrys. They always get in dog paws or stick to clothing, they really hurt when the little spines stick in you.

We had sandspurs in Central FL. Hate those things!
