Prayers for everyone to get better SOON!.

I got in touch with the pulmanary Dr yesterday. Got my appointment moved up to next Tuesday. Hope they can give me some relief. Some days seem a little better for either the cough or wheezing. Others not so much. I think I am better, just taking forever. I have cut back on the nebulizer from 3 per day to 2 yesterday. It seemed like the 3 was keeping me from sleeping. 2-4 hours a night just ain't enough to keep me functioning. I hope that helps.

Some emedications can cause cough, some allergies. You and all my freinds here are in our prayers.

Exactly. And the more trailer-trashy the moms are, the worse it is...
...And the trailer trash drama continued at my daughter's dance practice tonight. The ladies were gossiping about another dance mom who is an addict and signed over her custody rights today. There are several addicts/ recovering addicts and moms with drug priors that have girls at the studio. That's life in rural America. Meth is a helluva drug...

So many of todays younger generation are on drugs. It is a terrible thing. So many kids have addicts for parents.

I had a good day today.
Feel some better.
Hope antibiotics be really kick in tonight.

Hope everybody gets a good night's rest .

Hope everyone will recover quickly from their ailments & illnesses. Sinus infections absolutely suck! Phideaux, what branch of the military were you in? (My father was in the Army & uncle was in the Navy-- I wanted to join the Army but they wouldn't take me due to heart problems, had a heart attack my senior year in high school). Did they give you nasal spray? It doesn't feel good, but some of the nasal sprays can really help.

With all the flu & covid19 stuff going around, I'm avoiding people. LOL. Ok, I avoid people as much as I can anyway.

Been cleaning, cooking (which I'm not great at), and driving my friends places. Helping a friend to get a new roof put on because his is leaking badly. We have two local hardware stores. One closes at 4pm (although they will lock their doors at 3 to 3:30 sometimes) & they are rather rude to people. Other closes at 5pm but will keep it open if you call ahead and ask them to if you really need something, owner is very nice, & he gives people discounts & sometimes offers to give stuff away for free to help people out. He took over the business after his father passed away (I think he died the same year as my father). They have this really big yellow dog that is very friendly. I worked with lions smaller than him (back when I worked at a zoo). Sorted out what my friend wanted to order for his roof & it will be delivered Monday (hopefully-- supposed to have thunderstorms then). My mom and I promised my best friend's late grandmother that we would take care of her grandson before she passed away. I took his fiance for a cardiology appointment but it turned out they told her the wrong date. She asked for an urgent appointment & they told her the 19th-- but they meant the 19th NEXT month. Her cardiologist wasn't even there so she couldn't talk to him. Ended up going to IHOP & the check wasn't coming. Finally the waitress came over and told us someone had taken care of our bill for us. Went to the Liquidation store & saw another person with a Honda Ridgeline (I have a 2013 RTL- he had an 07 RT). Turns out we're both on the ridgelineowners forum. Got a sort of adult potty chair for my friend's grandfather. Old man checked himself out of the nursing home & went back to his old house. Friend asked me to grab him the chair so he would never again have to scrub crap out of the old man's behind. I used to joke with my friend that his grandfather (who calls him 20x a day) was saying "Come wipe my a$$!" and one day he actually did & my friend was horrified but he did it. Happened to be the day elder care came to check on the old man & had him put in a nursing home.

New toilet came in- ordered the tank and bowl separately bc it was cheaper than getting them together. Different sellers so different shipping. UPS brought the bowl and the guy set it inside my front door after I opened the door for him. Tank came via USPS in a larger box than the bowl & USPS put it upsidedown. Fortunately, it wasn't damaged. I filmed the unboxing in case there was any dispute about whether or not anything arrived cracked. My cats "helped" by climbing on and in the boxes. New flush system in the tank looks cool- tower flush instead of a flapper. I'm now debating whether I should do more work on the floor in the bathroom before putting the new toilet in. I have sheet vinyl in a roll waiting to be installed but the subfloor needs repair. My father only sort of scabbed it with OSB/particle board after the incident where the old toilet fell through the floor with my brother on it. (My brother said the toilet made a sound that he took to mean "I can't take anymore of this $#!+!"). We've had a Toto Drake w/ Sanagloss (I think they now call it Cefiontec) but the finish didn't stop staining from the sediment in the well-water. Bowl is 14-1/2" high so the new toilet doesn't have the fancy finish but it is 16-1/2" high which is better for my mother. Right now the closet flange is broken & needs to be replaced but I never heard back from the plumber. I'm waiting to get a tool in the mail that will let me cut the pipe from the inside to replace the flange.

I need to figure out what I'm going to do tomorrow (later today since it's after midnight). I need to pick a project to work on. I'm thinking if the weather isn't too bad I might go down and do more touch-up paint on the exterior door. I haven't messed with it in awhile. I need to sand the legs on a little round table made out of scrap wood (I think my father made it but I'm not sure). The rough wood on the top had splinters that snagged and ripped my favorite pants so I sanded the bejeezus out of it and put filler primer on it to try to cover nails sticking up through the top & get rid of some ridges. Tried using wood putty but it just disintegrated. Might use Bondo if it's still too pronounced. Sanding did take the sharp point out of the nails though. I'm going to see if I can figure out where to post a thread about my projects.

I play the game Elder Scrolls Online (not sure if anyone else plays it) and just finished up the Dark Brotherhood questline. My character can now one-shot murder npcs more efficiently.

Sitting up with dad... nurses had to do some things w/dad. I walked the two blocks to the Waffle House and had a BLT. It's cold outside, about 30 degrees but the wind is out of the north @20mph, brrrr...

Going to crash soon, might finish a chapter in my new book first. It's 0158hrs night all.
:)

Peanut, I hope your dad is recovering (I haven't gone through the entire thread since there are so many posts so I don't know the full situation). I remember sitting in the hospital with my father after a heart attack & I sat with elderly friends (who were like grandparents to me) when they were dying. Both situations sucked. It's so hard to sleep when you're having to deal with stuff like that, even though you feel exhausted. I hope you get a good nights rest.

Thanks @zannej ,
They did not offer me any nasal spray, but did mention Flonase.

I don't like nasal sprays.

Looks like you and Peanut both have your hands full, just different things to do.

I've always wondered how many characters one could type into one single post before loading to Max.
I now know that one post will hold at least 4000 characters. Thanks Zannej.
Your a busy man.

Feel a little better today. Those 875 mg (horsepill) Augmentin pills are making me naseaus.

Hope y'all have a productive day filled with joy.

Jim

Made Lentil/Quinoa taco meat yesterday for burritos. Used my own homemade taco seasoning so no msg. Combined 3 recipes plus added what I thought I should so I can't really show a link.

Dropped off DH's car for oil change--we buy the stuff--and went to thrift store and now back home. Supposed to clean baths today-- we will see.

Got exercise done too cold to walk so danced for 40 minutes off and on.
Later will go cut down a few vines that are climbing up our fence.
Cooked some baked salmon patties, sweet potatoes and made cole slaw. Will feed us for a couple days or more.

Went to followup appointment with Orthopedic surgeon.
Pretty good results.
Not the best but pretty good.
Will finish out the last two Physical Therapy appointments next week.
Go back in 6 weeks to reevaluate the need for more structured Physical Therapy.
Bend of knee is no where near 125, but with no pain pills since 13 January 2020 when I broke out in hives.
102-104 bend on sheer guts is pretty good.
Still got work to do on straightening too.
Still at 4 -7 degrees.
Lost another 1.5-2 pounds.
So will start walking more, stretches, lunges.
Supposed to only workout 2 days a week to start with for at least 2 weeks then increase slowly.
Walked about a 1 mile just going to x-ray, Orthopedic clinic, Physical Therapy to be measured.
Physical Therapy would have liked knee a little straighter before going to yoga classes.
But I agreed in 6 weeks if not up to snuff, I would go back to structured Physical Therapy.
Supposed to be nice this weekend, so Strawberry and I will be outside walking a bit.
Hope everybody is feeling better.

I have a tendency to type very loooong posts. LOL.
For nasal sprays, I've never tried flonase, but I found that Simply Saline is what my doctor recommended. There was some other kind of prescription stuff I once got that really helped-- actually made my nasal passages feel better but I lost the ability to smell anything for 2 months after one of the times I had a sinus infection & used it. I'd used it before & never had a problem. It made cleaning the litterboxes easier at least, but all food tasted strange without the smell. Respiratory/sinus stuff can be the worst. I once got so sick with some sort of respiratory ailment that I was too sick to go to the doctor's office. I couldn't stop coughing & become very disoriented to the point that, without medication, I started to hallucinate somewhat. I could see the world I was in, but there was an overlay of a different place-- like I was in a big dark cavern at some points and when I was stumbling to the bathroom, I saw large animatronic dolls, cogs, wheels, pulleys, ropes, etc all guiding me in the direction of the bathroom. I have never used any sort of illegal drugs or hallucinogens or anything of the sort so it was incredibly weird.

I forgot to take my regular medicines yesterday so I felt like garbage today. Still feel very tired. Have a bit of a cough and some mucus, but it's not too bad. I rested today & got up briefly to get my mother some food. I will have to make dinner later- Mom is napping right now so she's not asking for food.

I recently got accepted in to a facebook group for ASA (Army Security Agency) members & their families. I'm trying to find anyone who knew my father when he was in the ASA back in Thailand and in Vietnam. He was assigned to different places at different times & the notes I took are disjointed. I finally remembered that he was in the 5th RRU & found notation of what his MOS was.

I think when I start making posts on my various projects that I will make multiple posts instead of one large convoluted posts because even my single project posts tend to be very long and confusing for readers. Brevity is not one of my skills in communication. LOL. Hope the admins are OK with that. I am thinking of making a sort of master post with a list of my projects and links to the various threads.

Well, not the most productive day , today.

Took the Eldorado out for about a 30 mile run.
Gotta do that every month.
Went to a new place for lunch. Not very good.
Filled the wood box.
Too cold to tinker.
The antibiotics are helping , I'm feeling little better each day, coughing too much though.

Soooo ...all in all a good day.

Maybe the suburban money-mom's aren't so bad after all. ;)

They will sit in a group and gossip about some other woman, then that woman will show up and join them in gossiping about someone else. Then someone else from the group will leave and they will start trash talking her. But it's usually not about drugs or child custody and more about who doesn't have the nicer luxury SUV or who's husband is screwing their secretary or nanny. They are pretty brutal. I am sure they are drugs too, only they are "prescribed" or come in fancy glass bottles.

JIm glad your feeling better. I slept late so guess I'm feeling better too.

I wonder what it is about people who sit around and gossip & spread rumors about other people. Around here even the men do it-- they've spread some slanderous rumors about my best friend that caused him problems & his fiance (who is 22) is constantly upset over people spreading rumors about her on social media. One of the biggest rumor-mongers is my friend's ex though. I'm at the age where if someone gossips about me, I find it funny. Reminds me of when I was in middle school and someone started a rumor that I was a vampire and that several dead bodies were found near my house (they didn't even know where my house was). But, the gossip/trashtalk is part of why I don't like being around people much-- it's also part of why I don't have many female friends as they tend to be the biggest drama queens. Meth is a problem in the area so that compounds the problems.
I've either got bad allergies or a cold & my whole body aches so I've been resting. Mom woke me up at 2am wanting me to make dinner. I asked her what time it was and she said "two" and was confused about why it was completely dark at 2pm, but it turns out she woke up and was hungry so I got up and botched cooking a grilled cheese sandwich and eggs. My brother used the pan and burned stuff in to it that is not coming out so the bread (despite butter and other anti-stick spray) kept coming off and sticking to the pan and the eggs stuck to the pan. Gonna try to find a better scrubber to see if I can get the crud off so stuff wont' stick anymore-- either that or I need a new pan. I have an induction cooktop so its a royal pain trying to find a pan that works with induction. A lot of stuff that says it does doesn't and those plates you put under the pans that are supposed to make them work with induction don't work worth crap.

I'm gearing up to help my friend with fixing up his house more. His old house burned (his ex-girlfriend's fault). He moved in to a trailer & was fixing it up but his ex nagged him in to "selling" it to her but she never paid him. He stayed with his grandparents for awhile but more drama ensued with his meth-head father so he moved in to his late maternal grandmother's old house-- which was in horrible shape. It was a meth house-- full of syringes & bodily fluids. We gloved up and cleared the place out, scrubbed the walls, pulled the rugs & my friend fixed up the floors as best as he could. Funny thing is, his ex's current boyfriend is a really nice guy & he came over to help. The roof is still leaking, the support for part of the floor under the bathroom dropped, so he'll have to get a jack and raise it and put a new support under it, he needs flooring in at least 3 rooms-- one of the rooms needs to have insulation put in. He's taking a week off work to do the roof and work on the bathroom floor. If he gets his taxes in time we can get a new shower-tub unit in. I'm going to be helping him with making sure the DWV is done right. Once I see where his pipes are, I can help him make a plan and figure out what fittings he'll need. I think eventually the plan is to do a 2nd layer of floor-- an underlayment layer so everything will have to be moved out except the vanity. I have a toilet jack that we are going to use for moving his toilet so we don't hurt our backs.

Here I go babbling again. LOL.

Phideaux, I hope your sinus infection continues to clear up.

Washed dried, put away aload of laundry.
Smacked Strawberry with fly swatter.
Oldest son and grand daughter came by to check on Granny.
I'm still cold, but not as bad as it has been.
Oldest son and grand daughter stayed about 3 hours which was plenty long enough.
Walked a bit today about 1375 steps about .39 mile.
Strawberry is making a bed on the loveseat right now.
Grand daughter hugged her to pieces while she was here.
Going elevate knee for a while, rest.
Got some dishes to do up in a bit.
I would love to go adjust the ding bat's neighbor's carburetor, so the miss firing doesn't wake me up later.
I'm fairly sure several other neighbors feel the same way.

Had breakfast at the local diner
Then shopped for groceries. Hubby got his beer and the dog's food ( 50lb bags are starting to get to me I'm getting old :() and an archery target (lol huh?)
Just hung out online catching up on some videos and such and spent a good bit of time outside since it was in the low 50's and sun shining. Better get it while I can because its supposed to be cloudy and rainy mon-thurs this coming week
Hubby installed electronic locks on the front doors for some reason o_O. After 40 years I don't ask, just go with the flow lol
Had fastfood (blek) for supper
Have the coffee pot ready to go for in the morning
I'm still cold most of the time but not as badly as I was a couple of weeks back. Guess my thermostat has decided to drop to the cool side now instead of running on the warm side all my life

Gettin old ain't for sissys I can tell ya that :D

Not much today. Mostly just rested up. Did go pick up another script for the nebulizer.
We had tickets for the Kansas concert tonight, but I knew mid week I wasn't gonna be able to go, so i told the wife to find someone to go with her. One of our friends said she could go, so they should be having a blast at the concert about now. Eating my heart out.

Like BP didn't do much today.
Burned out my chimney with the first hot fire of the year. Once a year.
Went to late lunch , best ribs.

Went and picked up my center console armrest from upholstery be man.
$25 for replacing side piece all the way around. Came home cleaned it and treated it.

I'm always cold - all my life, have been tested for anemia etc. all good. I just run cold. My mom runs hot (so does my bro.). Winter before last, mom and I were standing outside talking. She was in a long sleeved tshirt and I was in a sweater. My arms were tied in a knot and I was shivering. I suggested we go inside to talk since it was so cold. She said, "Oh, I thought it was kinda nice." I kid you not as the words fell from her mouth, little flittery snowflakes began to fall. We still laugh about that.

My daughter an I went to Jordan Creek mall in Des Moines today. It was Dad-Daughter time. We looked at lots of stuff but didn't buy much. We did eat at Zombie Burger though - she got the Walking Ched (deep fried mac and cheese patties for buns, cheddar cheese, red onions, and bacon) and I had the Flamethrower burger (Bleu cheese, Buffalo hot wings sauce). It was good stuff.

On the way home we stopped at the world's greatest store, Mills Fleet Farm. I got her some kitty litter for her cat at her mom's house. I looked at work boots and red dot sights but she got bored. Lol. Now we're home for a quiet night with popcorn in front of the TV...
