Took the bedsheets off the bed and threw down the stairs for the wife.
Wife has a hen party today.
Weed wack the property then mow.
Chicken chores. down to 2 or 3 eggs a day from the high of 5 or 6. Don't think they will make till winter.
Piddle around in the shop until the hen party is over.

I'll be heading to hospital to pick up wife . Doctor just told her she could go home.
I hate not being there when all instructions and info are given.

But I'll be waiting on a call to go , because I can't go in, they will bring her to my car.

Timing is important.
It's too hot to sit and wait.

Jim
Do you think she will be able to get around now, or will she be needing lots of help taking care of herself for a few days or weeks?

Hoping your wife will be more comfortable at home, Phideaux. We are having a pretty hot day here, too. Picked up my cousins and headed into the big town to do grocery shopping at the Kroger Store and to pick up husband's prescriptions. Meat prices and selection was poor, except on chicken. So far the best beef cuts and prices have been at Sams in Wichita. Then unloaded cousins' groceries and came home and need to finish putting away ours. Have a mess out, unpacking a box of kitchen spices and don't know where to put them yet.

It's so hot here, I hung some laundry and I bet it's dry already. I'm putting my feet up and sitting in ac with a cup of coffee, trying to get my second wind. Husband is napping. I broke my little toe last night on the wall corner, and it hurts. Looks pretty ugly today. Good excuse to have to sit in the recliner.

Hope your toe heals quickly, Amish! And a complete recovery for Mrs. Phideaux also!

Figs are all done. That Orange Fig Jam is amazing!

I had the fella who does our mowing clear a small area in potatoes and sweet potatoes and I definitely have sweet potatoes. They were right up top. Big ones too! Will check for more and regulars tomorrow or Monday. I have to go find sawhorses and plywood in shed to cure them on.

Sometimes medical people are so ignorant. Telling him and you this kind of stuff at bedtime is as ignorant as can be.
I have heard that keeping your teeth up will also keep your health up. Having dental care was one of the things that my mother's parents decided they would do for us after my mother's death. It was a habit that we developed from a young age, but I learned later that many people only go to the dentist when they have a problem.
I agree with this being just inconsiderate. I was diagnosed with a brain tumer this year. I was in the hospital for severe headaches, vertigo, and a dangerously high BP. I thought when they got my BP under control I would be fine. So I was just shocked when they told me the found a brain tumor. My husband was on his way and I knew he would be there in a few minutes. So I just told the Dr. to stop talking. I told him I could not take that news alone and he would have to come back in a bit. He was surprised but very understanding. It was obvious that he never even thought about it. This is their job and they have to push the emotion away in order to survive the job. BTW - I am 4 months post-surgery and starting to get better. It is a really slow rehab. They still don't know if they got it all and will repeat the MRI in October. I lost the hearing in my right ear which is hard to get used to and my balance is terrible. But I can finally see improvement.

I built this today. It was just sitting there in the box waiting for hubby to find the time. I was very happy I could do it. Starting to feel a little less than a burden these days. It is my seedling grow shelf. I want a bigger garden next year and I want to be ready.
:woo hoo:

She will need some attention and a little help for about a week

She is moving slow.
But not in pain.
Just the surgery soreness.
I keep her happy.

Sounds like she will be so much better soon.

@Amish Heart , ouch! I have never been around a broken toe, so I am not sure of the healing time and what it takes, but hopefully, it won't slow you down for too long.

@Amish Heart Ouch! You’re not supposed to run into things. It usually hurts. Hope it heals quickly.
@phideaux Yay. So glad she’s done and gets to come home. She will relax better at home too.
Pa had his oral surgery this morning. They took all of his teeth. He is still groggy due to anesthesia and pain meds but doing well. He was able to dial home phone number (rather than #2 on cell ph) and they were bringing him a popsicle and milkshake which he was looking forward to. That’s one of the big procedures out of the way. In a couple days will be the heart valve. It is so difficult not being able to be there with him. Also, no bad news last night so we all got some sleep. Amen!
I just heard of a woman who lost her husband to lung cancer. They knew he was terminal and still wouldn’t let her see him so she didn’t get to see him before he passed. That is inhumane!

That’s awesome! Glad you are doing well on your recovery journey. Gardening certainly is good therapy.

Doggie glad your seeing improvment. That is awesome. Prayers for you to continue improvment.
Lady, Glad your dad got thru that in good shape. Hopefully the valve will go smooth and he can heal up and get home.
Jim, Glad the Mrs got to come home and is doing ok. Stronger every day I bet. Prayers answered there.
Snappy, you mentioned figs, we have several on our bush. Had them before, but they never ripen. I sure hope they do this year.

Picked up some fuel for the tractors, bush hogged most of the field ( I like to leave some as cover for the deer). Watered the beds and maters also. Don't seem like I did much but the day is gone.

You know they would be taking me away in handcuffs ...after I seen my spouse, in that situation.
How stupid can they be.

Havasu said people were asking about me. I'm still alive. LOL.
Thought I had an abscess but it turns out I have exposed nerves in two of my back top molars. Sends pain shooting through the jaw upper & lower, through my ear, to the back of my eye, into my nose, and down my neck. Feels like being stabbed in the face from the inside. Makes my head throb. I've been on antibiotics for a couple of weeks & am scheduled for a root canal on Friday. I have a high resistance to pain meds so they aren't doing much but fortunately it comes and goes & right now it's very mild. I'm mostly very tired. Good thing I took my friend to his emergency dental appointments because that is how I found the dentist who could see me quickly.
Jet pump has been acting up. Pressure switch chatters & shuts off the pump so I have to go out and reset it (which somehow works when I tug on the power cord going down to the switch). Probably a damaged wire again, but I'm not sure. Could also be the pressure gauge or the tank again. I'm going to get my friend to look at the wires to see if anything looks fried. If its not the wires I'll have to call the pump guy to come look at it. I'll have to drive over the weeds to create a path for him. Guy we paid to cut the weeds never showed up & took a job trucking so he's never around.
The kittens already pretty much destroyed the pet cube I made for them, but I kind of expected that.
When my brain is functioning I've been playing around with a graphics program called GIMP to do recolors of stuff for Sims 4.
I've been a bit too woozy to do much cleaning so the kitchen is a mess. The dogs have been going nuts because a big fat raccoon larger than both dogs has been coming in to eat the cat food. The cats barely look at it so I guess it's been coming in for awhile now. We call it "Rocket". It's not aggressive and actually runs from the dogs and doesn't fight back when they jump on it. They are lucky because raccoons could really tear them up.
Hope everyone else is doing well. My brain wasn't working well enough to read all of the replies I missed since my last posting. I'll have to catch up slowly.

Transplanting, transplanting, transplanting. Have to make room in the garden, so some of the non-edibles are being moved into the cold, cruel world (where they will still be watered and tended, but will have room to stretch out their roots a bit). Moved some started bush beans into the raised garden bed. Surveying the main garden area, started ten years ago, with an eye toward massive renovation. There may be casualties.

Did video this morning and then started another roast in the slow cooker. Went to Church.

This afternoon, I have to set up saw horses and plywood to cure potatoes (plywood is buried, of course), then weed eat one section of back garden. That should be about it, I need some rest!

I remember and still try to get that memory out my mind. She comes up to me real fast and broke two of her toes on my boot. Told me it was my fought , and then said, you need to straighten them.:ghostly:

I tried and shell yelled so I stopped , then she halls off and karratti chop a perfect hit and then snatched them back in place. She screamed and then me and the dogs took off. 🙄

That foot turned black for days and Dr. x rayed it later laughed after hearing story and said he couldn't have done better his self.
🙄
