The amazing part of what you wrote is that the school listed him with a LOW IQ. That should really tell you not to trust government run schools. There's a hell of a distance between someone with an IQ of 79 & someone with an IQ of 150 or over.
I think they were intimidated because he was smarter than they were. He took all of his senior classes in 4 1/2 hours a week. A psychiatrist tested him a couple years after graduation. He answered every question wrong on the IQ test. She said that meant he had to know all the answers or he would have accidentally got some right. He told us later that he did it on purpose. The test is supposed to take 3 hours, it took him less than 30 minutes. 3 years ago, he weighed over 400. He set his mind on losing weight. This morning he weighed 203.

Long day....animal chores early, I had a dermatologist appt in the bigger town and had a spot burned off, came home and made lunch for husband. Then took him back to the bigger town for his hearing test. Came home and grabbed the farm truck to drive it in for an oil change and a few minor repairs. Went by the cemetary to see if mom's gravestone was put in, and it was. Looks nice.

less bugs and snakes is probably why we live in the north

That was my experience.. No snakes, short mosquito season, but bears were a major pain in the neck during there season..

Temps this week 70/50F. Possible scattered evening showers later this week.. Weekend to be nice as local ...community garage sale... weekend scheduled... Last weekend for Mothers Day, fishing season opener, fishing widows garage sales was nice.. Got car license renewed.. Dentist visit done.. Will pretty much have the rest of summer off now..

Hey folks, my computer/internet is still dragging (not just on this site) and it's ph and comp.
l'm going to take it as a sign that l need to concentrate on a few off line tasks.
l'm not going anywhere, but might not be on for a few days, maybe see if this thing gets worked out.

I've been thinking about one of those slicers, Mt Trapper, you'll have to say how you like it. Going to work on the wagon assembly soon, and I also ordered a "car refridgerator", that just got put on the porch. It's on wheels. I don't intend to use it in the car necessarily, but just as an extra with an inverter and battery.
So far I've only sliced cheese with it. I put the cheese in the freezer for about 30 minutes before slicing. It did a great job on the cheese. Yesterday I bought a ham, but haven't had a chance to slice it yet. We'll save about $10 a pound by slicing our own ham vs buying deli ham. We bought their largest model with the 12" blade. I'm very happy with it, should last a lifetime.

Scored some landscape fabric rolls off fb marketplace today, plan to put fabric down, fence in the garden area, and put in raised beds. My friends and I are making 3' tall beds from metal siding panels, we're all to old to be bending over very easily anymore. I have a ton of branches and old wood laying around here to fill the bottoms, then we'll put soil on top to fill them. Not sure if I want to put mulch or gravel on the fabric. Trying to design everything to be as low maintenance as possible.
There's a guy coming tomorrow to give me a quote on installing an automatic back up generator. Again, trying to set up for the future, but if it's too much I'll have to look at getting a sub panel put in and a "roll out when I need it" sort of generator. I hope I'm able to afford the automatic one, there's a perfect spot for it behind the shed where it won't be visible or even really heard from the road.

Had a brutal day at work. We changed one switch point in a switch and then changed the stock rail plus another 280 feet of rail in the turnout and added a transition rail ahead of the points. Then we changed the tail rail off the frog and welded all the rails together. Tomorrow will be the other switch point and a transition rail off that point. The switch is down in dried mud so I spent my morning busting dry mud mixed with ballast stone, with a pick and shovel. My afternoon was spent grinding rail, hammering spikes and driving on rail anchors with a maul. I am totally shot.

Hopefully tomorrow goes smoothly and we can get done a little early. I haven't felt this beat up in a long time and I could use an early start to my weekend...

I kind of how how Spike feels my just change the pins and bushings on a bobcat has been a little more than contrary

4 loads of laundry, got the garden plowed. The battle with fruit flies continues. i found the reason for them couple days ago, a bad onion in the bottom of the basket. Anyway, I've resorted to to starving them out. My kitchen is clean enough to eat off the walls or the floor. It always works but it takes a few days. I'd make a funnel trap but don't have anything to put in it.

Hope All Here, esp the 2 above this post, Have a "Blessed Night". Nothing But

Our female pup Luna is so damned cute, it almost brings tears to my eyes. She's both a problem dog with fear issues, and such a loving and adorable pup. She is totally in love with my wife, and constantly "talks" to her with her yelps, barks, and weird vocalizations. She is totally attached to her. Our male pup Chess (brother to Luna) is so incredibly loving it almost seems unreal, and he too is totally in love with my wife. The love between the two of them is amazing. They are joined at the hip. But they are in constant competition with each other ... the dreaded littermate syndrome is clear in them both. It's a joy just to observe them all day long.

Hope all are well. Came home early to try to work on cleanup. Lawnmower wouldn’t start and grass to my knees. County has been declared disaster and eligible for restitution with application and documentation. The trees down on fences, roads and in yard wil take forever to clean up. Underpinning from house all over yard. Two weeks ago we got 12+ inches of rain. Blocked in and unable to get hour. Power out for 24 hours. No breathing treatment for husband as he lost converter. Last week major high winds and power outage 24 hours. Bought another converter and next day he found 1st one. Blocked roads due to downed trees. I drive 3 county roads for 10 miles to get to town. 4 lcrossings under water. Just got alert for flood warning. Expecting 2-6 inches tomorrow. Already have to use 4wheel drive in my truck. Stay safe

It has been CRAZY down there! Please stay safe and check in more often if you can!! 💗

Let us know if there's anything we can do! Sup can probably send the Cajun Navy too! :)
Actually El Paso sent 2 rescue units. People are stupid and drive around barriers. People on Trinity River moved to higher ground over weekend. Brother in law said water rose 1.5 feet Sunday night. He is a mile from river. Hay field flooded. Water moving so fast and you don’t know if culvert still there or huge holes.

Think it'll have an impact of beef? Is it that wide spread? We've had a soggy couple weeks, the river to the west is out of its banks but it's a big swamp anyway. I'm on a ridge between river valleys. Never have to worry about your kind of flooding.

Post back often if you can...

I felt lousy today. I had to work at the thrift store and I was wrapped in a blanket because I was FREEZING. Got home at 1:30 and went right back to bed. Slept until 7:30. I stayed up for a bit and am now back in bed. Only ate 2 pieces of bread and a cup of cinnamon tea which I promptly threw up. 😩

I always had a sharp point jack bar I used to break up the mud, you don't have to bend like you do with the pick.

You can also stab it down at the heads of a tie deep and use the tie as a fulcrum to break the base out deep.

I hate undercutters, I used to use a Gradall to undercut, take out 4 ties and start, push the ties back as you move backward along the track bunch them up and put new ones in for those that fell off or flip them over start gaging and filling with a backhoe about ten feet out of the reach of the machine with one watcher for the men in case anything happened. you can do a long section with four machines doing about 1000 feet in 3 hours each leave a section do a section let it run three days to settle and do what you left leaving a space and 1 tie out.
