Yesterday was a town day--pay a bill, Dollar tree for stuff for missionary going to Romania, Walmart, thrift store.

Today, Bo and I already walked.
Will walk both dogs on short walk in a few.
Shovel gutters up the road as we have rain coming.
Hardware store for prices on mulch and flowers for Church flower bed.
Stop at Catholic Church on way home for free lunch.
Stake up tomato plants in lick tubs.
Make cheese. I haven't tried this for awhile. I have all ingredients and hopefully, the time today!

Well, it's been raining since the middle of the night. And to think I wasted my time and money a couple days ago, watering the lawn!!!

The electrician is here finishing up all the electrical: installing sconces, can lights, fans, switches, and outlets.

My frameless shower glass has been ordered, so 2 weeks before that's installed.

The countertop is also 2 weeks out.

Then there is the plumber, who will likely come sometime next week.

And of course all the finish work like paint, door knobs, drawer handles and knobs, etc.

Can't wait for all this to be finished! The house is cluttered, covered in dust, completely disorganized.

Little granddaughter's last day of school today. She just had lunch and crashed out on the couch. Summer break begins...it's good to have her home again.
Did a bunch of chores this morning, and got the floors cleaned. Went to the greenhouse down the road that a lady sells at and bought a bunch of Gerber daisies to plant in pots for the porch, also got a good looking blackberry bush. Need to pick up the old truck from the mechanic and drop off the new truck for maintenance at some point today. Talked husband into takeout at the amish place for dinner tonight.

We have a lot of scorpions here, for some reason they show up in the shower sometimes!! 😮
Must be an arachnid thing. We have spiders in ours. I can only guess that they go in through the floor drain for the water heater in the basement, then travel along the dark wet drain pipe about 50 feet and pop up in the shower. Only to be smashed to smithereens once they get there and I see them. They're pretty much dead meat in a bathtub if they can't make it back to the drain when they get the alert. They can kind of climb the porcelain walls of the tub for a bit, until it goes pure vertical, then they start sliding back downwards. No way they can survive a good smash on hard porcelain. Not like on carpet where they can maybe duck down enough to withstand getting flattened (on carpet you need to use the squash-'n-spin method with your shoe to really grind them up).

I think the scorpions go in our shower to eat the spiders, lol!!

They are attracted to moisture, I was in a hurry to get a shower before going out one day.
I jumped in without looking and got nailed between the toes by one of those big black scorpions we have here in the mountains.
It hurt me for two days.

Nothing in my shower, but we've got coyotes, bobcats, rattle snakes & black racers, tarantulas, fire ants, hawks, Bard Owls outside. It's like a damned zoo here!

On another note, the electrician has finished! We have lights & power!!! Yay! After a month and a half ... Tomorrow they come to paint the doors and trim.

There will be a 2 week lull while we wait for the countertop and shower glass. Might give us a chance to clean up some rooms of the house.

We got started with the internal antennas in one of the last building we needed to start with the BDA's. Found out one area is a contamination area and we've gotta figure out how to mount 4 of them in there. 1 of the 2 penetration permits has came thru already, so we are working this weekend on another facility installing the same equipment.

Got home and mowed about half what is needed. Suppose to rain next 3 days, hopefully i'll start late tomorrow and I can get finished tomorrow

I have been ignoring the mowing in favor of the garden but I broke down today. Spent a good bit of the afternoon riding the tractor around. Then switched over to weed whacking. Will continue as time permits.

Just got home from the job in Mason City. It went pretty well today. There was some more picking mud, pulling spikes, knocking anchors off, and sawing rail. Then, spiking the new rail down and driving anchors back on. It was a little easier today because we did over half of the project yesterday.

Now my 3 day weekend starts. It's going to be busy. My daughter graduates this weekend so I'll be doing stuff related to that. She's graduating #4 in her class with a 3.99 GPA. (There is a set of triplets who all have an identical 4.0 who are going to be co-valedictorians). I am a proud, proud papa...
