I had to uninstall the keyboard app and then re-install it. It looks different now, and it functions a little different. I think maybe there was a glitch with a software update, and the re-install got the update to work. But I'm not a tech guy, so I might be full of crap, too...but whatever. It works now...
The software updates can wreak havoc. My uncle called me one day and my phone didn't ring. It was right beside me. Then I saw I missed his call. I checked to make sure it wasn't on silence. No. I returned his call. The next day daughter tried calling and the same thing happened. She texted me and that went through, telling me she had just tried calling. She told me I should turn off my phone for a couple minutes every day. I don't often remember to do that, but when I think of it, I do, like just now.

Sometimes my phone won't charge right until I restart it.

But how is your knee doing? Are you able to bend it or are you struggling with it?

@Weedygarden ,
Thanks dear, I have been working hard to get the motion back. I'm back to 75% of where I was last week. Still have more pain than before, and I'm out of pain med.
PT gal came today , told her what happened and she said that is not unusual, and I'm doing good, but they are going to continue PT thru next week.
Talked to Docs office , gotta go pickup script for more pain meds tomorrow.

Jim

You must not be that far from me, @Sentry18 . That's almost exactly what our forecast is here...

I'm wearing a hoodie. Too chilly for shirtsleeves...:D

I can always tell another Midwesterner!

42° now. It would feel good if the wind would stop. :LOL:The wind stop....

Southern NM is a giant wind tunnel. It NEVER stops!
I well remember working near Alamogordo a couple years ago. It was a night job in March - chilly, dusty, and yes, windy. I was thrilled to get done with that gig...

I would not have expected you to be making steady progress and then to go backwards. If there was ever a time for pain meds, this must be it. Wishing you steady progress.

Wind in March.. That's the beginning of our "windy" season, it doesn't drop below 40mph until almost May.

Don't push that knee and hurt it. You've still got a month and a bit to heal up before you have to go dancing on Valentine's day so take it easy.:p

Of course...that's why I'm getting new knees

I truly did plan this to be at 100% by Spring time , that is my busiest time , and it's been a few years since I have been up to par for Spring chores.

Looking forward to it.

Today will be a test run.
Gotta go to big town to the Surgeons office to pick up a prescription for pain meds, then drive across town to VA clinic to give them the script.

I will get the meds overnite UPS.

Understand, I'm not now , nor have been in severe pain at any time.
It's just a deep achy burning, nagging pain that is easy to control, if you stay on top of it with meds.

So a long uncomfortable ride today. Probably lunch also.

I think in another week or 2 this will all go away.

I'm ready .

Jim

Drove all over town yesterday doing errands and shopping. Back to Walmart today to pick up an online order. And some rock salt. Needed it this morning for icy porch. Made a call to the lady we bought the 2 pygmy goats from a few years ago. They will be going back to her home as it is getting to difficult for DH to help care for them and they are pets, not being bred or milked. It's a bit of a relief for me and the new pup won't be eating goat poop and having the runs, God willing! A little help money wise also. But sad for DH. A part of getting older, I think.

Met new grandson, much wow.
I'll snuggle him, help his parents with chores and stuff; later meet with a friend I haven't seen in 8+ years. Very cool she lives in same place as my offspring.

Try to get a glimpse of the ocean while I'm here.
Jetlag is a b. Still, I woke up too early.

Good to hear Patch. Have fun.

Normal Wednesday for me, but with the add on that we will going to "Dinner & a Show" at church tonight. The 3 youth groups host a big potluck while they put on a Christmas themed talent show and play. You sit and eat as the kids sing, play instruments, or show off other related skills. The play is usually a slightly comedic version of the birth of Christ that gets appropriately serious at the end. The whole thing runs about 3 hours.

Blood glucose went off the charts high this morning for some reason. Didn't eat anything strange, and my medicine has it coming back down now, but it kind of messed up my plans for the day...tonight is my church's annual Christmas caroling party, where we ride around town on a hayride, in the cold, and sing out of tune at the top of our lungs. So, I've got that to look forward to...

We also stop at houses where elderly people live and the church kids take them little treat bags. Then we sing for them. It's amazing to see those old eyes light up when the kids bring the treats. I guess sometimes we forget that there are those among us who don't have much family around to celebrate the holidays with and it's good to brighten up their evening, if only for a little while...

A day of badly needed rest, slept until 8, took a nap at 11, had a BLT at 1… exciting huh!

I went up to feed dad’s cats at the shop around 3pm. Boy did I get a surprise! He keeps cat food in a 30 gallon plastic trash can with a lid that locks on. I saw my niece had bought some cat food and set it in a cart. The lid was off the trash can. The light wasn’t good, I saw something light colored in the bottom and reached in, I thought it was the little plastic bowl used scoop car food.

It was a possum! It hissed and scared the carp out of me! Not what I was expecting! I guess he somehow got in the can but couldn’t get back out. Now I know why my niece didn’t put the bag of cat food in the can.

Since the can has wheels I rolled it out to the bull pen, dumped out the possum and killed it. It was a yearling, born this past spring. This make 4 years in a row I’ve caught one around the shop. Seems like the possum community would have learned to stay away by now.

@Patchouli Congrats! Enjoy those snuggles - will be graduating high school day after tomorrow.
@Amish Heart You gone quite the round with that dentist, wish you the best.
@Spikedriver That's just awesome- the caroling not the blood glucose spike. I've only heard carolers once and felt truly blessed. I've lived out of town most my life.
Well, I went and did it. I have my second cold in 8-9 years. My last one was a couple years ago. We mustn't take for granted the whole breathing through the nose thing. I don't like being sick so usually avoid it if I can. Hubby and I both ended up with this one but he was 2 days ahead of me. I've spent so much time on the couch and in bed. Have accomplished next to nothing- drives me batty.

Well, you just need to feel better, LL. No time to be sick over the holidays!
Seriously, I hope you get better, fast.
Survived the last dentist appt. My pocket book is emptier, but the bridge is in, and all the fillings are done.
Went to our Kroger Store afterwards, and there was a box of canning lids (again) in the clearance section. All wide mouth boxes, 38 of them, so I got them all. Some were marked $1.25 a box and some were $1.50 a box. No difference in the boxes, and the checker said that's what she has to charge. So I bought them. With these and the last haul, I should be set for a while.
