I use a heat pump to heat and cool my shop and garage. The house has gas heat and a whole house air conditioner.
It's the first home I have had air conditioning in. When I was building the shop and the garage I knew that I would need heat and cooling so I could work in there the year around.

It's unique to see a character so beloved that they cross over between films, books, television and even radio programs. But the fictional cowboy hero "Hopalong Cassidy" did just that. One character went on to have a lasting legacy that inspired the genre of TV westerns as well as character-themed memorabilia.

Short Stories
In 1904, author Clarence E. Mulford first created the character in a series of short stories. Called "Hopalong" due to the fact that his wooden leg made him appear to move around with a slight hop, the original depictions of the cowboy were a bit gruff.

What was Howdy's partner's name .... Without looking it up.

I remembered.

Jim

Buffalo Bob most of the time, or, depending of the skit, sometimes Clarabell The Clown, who in some versions of the character, was also played by Captain Kangaroo. But I wasn't really a big fan of the kids show TV personalities. I'd rather be outside, but if I did get stuck indoors because of the rain, I was mostly watching for the cartoons they usually played on most of the L.A. local channels.
