What Are You Having For Dinner

I recently bought a large value pack of yardbird, and I'm in the mood for some oven-baked chicken coated with seasoning... I picked up a box of 'Shake & Bake' to coat the yardbird. Flavored pasta or taters on the side, with a nice green salad too... that'll work for me! Might even cook it early, I'm already getting hungry after that two-hour weeding session this morning. I had some fresh pineapple chunks and fresh cherries for breakfast, but it's almost lunchtime and my stomach is growling, lol... I can stave off the hunger for awhile by drinking beer, but coated & oven-baked yardbird is sounding pretty good! Maybe I can eat a few pistachios with my beer, that'll delay the start of cooking this afternoon. ;)

Edit: Cooking the Shake & Bake Buffalo yardbird right now, I used both packets of coating on boneless thighs and I set four huge Hatch Anaheim Chiles (hotter than normal Anaheims) atop the bird, lol. These Hatch chiles are SO GOOD, I often eat one or two fresh with a sandwich, since I can't fit any more materials into the sandwich itself, lol. I used to eat pickles with lunch, and sometimes I still do (Claussen pickles, my favorite), but lately I've been macking these Hatch chiles on the side... they are DELICIOUS!!! Oh, yeah, as an aside, I FINALLY found a cycle shop to work with me on swapping out this recalled tire, they're ordering a Dunlop D606 front tire for the thumper, so I'll soon be back in business with the trail riding!!! :dancing:

Tonight we had fresh salad with shredded carrot, sliced cucumber, tomatoes, and beets. Putting that along side our steamed broccoli and asparagus dish, and left over casserole made for a very filling dinner. It is a real pleasure when you can pick something in the morning and eat it that evening...

Made a pot of seafood hot n sour soup today. It turned out great, didn't have to dump this pot out. I had some of the wonton I fried up a couple days ago, made a little dip.

Black vinegar is the key...

Sam's Supreme Thin crust pizza.
Had an online work meeting go long and just not in the mood to be bothered with actually cooking tonight...

Same thing for me tonight. I got the wife some kinda nachos and a year of grilled corn with some spices on it and smothered in butter. I had grilled shrimp fajitas with a bunch of toppings

I'm having whatever someone hands me, too tired to cook, to be honest! Tomorrow's fayre is ready for 1pm - there's 30 plus people coming, plus 6 of us
Pasta Salad, coleslaw, potato salad, lettuce/tomatoes etc, and I've cooked a turkey breast and a small ham to have cold
Garlic potatoes, burgers, chicken goujons, bacon rolls, cocktail sausages, bread rolls
The biggest bowl of trifle I've ever seen- strawberries, ice cream, little pastries

Any leftovers will do us Monday. And I get to do the whole thing again Saturday night for OH's relations! Though less food as its a night thing- burgers and cake, but I'll cook a fry for breakfast, as everyone is camping, the next morning is always fun. Fingers crossed for some sunshine!

Stopped at Albertson's on the way home, the store is next to the library, and I was in the mood for some of those sushi rolls from the deli... brought home three trays and pigged out on two, so I may skip dinner tonight, lol. The rolls were good and some even had real tuna slices laid across the top... downright delicious! Washed 'em down with some of that Bolthouse Vanilla Chai drink, that stuff wasn't bad either, lol. Dunno why I had such a strong craving for sushi, perhaps cuz I'm livin' in the high desert, lol. Anyway, it was darned good and now I'm full, so I'm angling toward my rack to read a good Western... there might be a nap in my near future, lol. That's alright, I picked up the propane and I'm ready to torch some weeds manana... should make another big dent in the puncturevine population.

Beef stew and bread.

I remember having lima beans and ham from a can when I was a kid.
I can't find it anymore.
I can't find canned lima or navy beans, just the baked ones.

I've been meaning to buy some dried white beans, just have to soak them over night. There used to be a catfish house at the TN/GA state line on I75, great place. Their appetizer, served with every order, was a small bowl of white beans and cracklin cornbread, I used to take extra cornbread home.

Ribeye tonight... mashed potatoes, wish I had cornbread...
