I like that, peacocks gone wild!!! I didn't get to sew one stitch today :(
I over slept, then I went and visited with a friend from school to drop off a belated baby shower gift. Visited with my sister when picking my daughter up from a sleep over with my nephew. We cleaned the barn some, and rented the 2 Sherlock Holmes movies. My daughter loves Ironman, Robert Downy Jr. I told her there will be a Sherlock 3 coming out, and she look at me like I was dumb. Then I remembered she was younger when I watched them before and didn't have interest in them. So I spent my sewing time watching Sherlock Holmes.

I'm hoping to sew tomorrow, but I have an appointment at the humane society to meet a cat that I keep going back to look at. We might be able to finish the barn tomorrow, and I'd like to color eggs. Cherokee is only gonna be home til 4 then off to her dad's. I'm thinking I might take a sewing project or something to see if the kitty might be a quilting cat.

Well Thistle came home with us. I wanted to bring all the kitties, I feel horrible for leaving them behind. Thistle had been adopted previously and RETURNED!!! She was very timid at the shelter and belly crawling around. I'm hoping she is able to relax and adjust to my 2 crazy boys. I will try and get a pic of her later.

Angie and I have been talking about a few group quilt projects that would be fun to do. We'd love to get a forum mystery going. Would any of you enjoy that and do you know of someone who could lead it for us? I'll do the quiltalong with the Craftsy design later in the summer. If any of you have any ideas for things you'd like to do here just let Angie know.

I would be interested in a mystery. Hopefully once I get back to work I'd still have time to work on it. I don't think I'd be able to host it though. Summer is coming, horses, shows, 4H, garden and working 7 days a week so cause everyone will be on vacation, lol

I will get this done! I was supposed to be cleaning this week to make room for my dad. I've had something come up almost every day that has required being gone most the day. I've seen a few minutes before bed. I will finish the block tonight before I go to bed! I will

This looks really weird to me. Did I screw it up?

That looks great! Now you're all set to finish that one when you do have the time.

I'm hoping that we can get a mystery going here sometime this year. Maybe something really simple that can be done in only three or four steps. I was looking for some of the quilters who were active on the other site to see if they'd like to join us in a project like that but it looks like a lot of them have drifted away. I understand that completely as I did the same thing. I haven't had much time on the computer this last couple of weeks - 'tis the spring season.

I think it looks great Greeneyes!

I have been wanting to start a new quilt project so already have a quilt in mind, but visiting Joanne website and she is sold out of the fabrics I was wanting to use and hadn't found any others that I really liked yet.

Did find out we are expecting another granddaughter in Oct so that will now be my next project. Just need to find out nursery colors. I'll give them some time though since they just found out last night it was a girl. :)

I can do buttons & small tares, that it.
I do have some squares that were my Grandmother's.
I will fame them until a child or grandchild makes a quilt.

I will get a better picture once it passes inspection and I get the top and bottom borders on. I'm so close then I'm gonna hit a brick wall, no backing. $7 in my checking account, and doctor and vet bills. I might have enough peacock left for close to half the backing, then I wouldn't need much. I have some rolls of batting laying around, just not sure of size and quality. I've decided to keep it, so I want to use Warm and Natural

I just noticed I have a lot of the grey left. And I have a good amount of blue. Maybe I can come up with something that doesn't have too many seams or look tacky. I've never used multiple fabrics in a back before. I think I'd like to save the purple and teal for the jellyfish quilt if I ever get to it. I have a return to work date. May 11. My depression is getting bad about going back. I hate that place....

ETA: I went to add top and bottom borders just now. Skeezicks is napping on it!

This top is gonna drive me batty. I was cutting the top and bottom borders to length and panicked cause I remembered I was going to have wider borders on the top and bottom for just a tad more length. I quickly measured my 2 borders, both 4.5". Drat that must mean I sewed my wider borders on the sides. Nope, they measured 4.5" too, including seam allowance. I'm not cutting more strips. It's only 2" total. I'm a little disappointed but I want to save what fabric I can for the back

Grrrr, grrr, double grrr! Looks like I'm cutting new border strips. When I measured my width I was wrong, even though I triple checked. So my strips are about an inch too short. I guess these border strips can get repurposed into binding? They would be straight of grain, I've heard bad things about using SOG binding? Thoughts?

My sister always cut her binding on the SOG and never had any problems. I think you just have to be sure that it is straight.

Mo has contacted me that she can't log in to this site now that the URL has changed. Does anybody know if others are having this problem?

Hot diggity dog!!! I was digging around in my room cause I knew I had a few packs of batting laying around. Bought them a long time ago when Joann's had a BOGO. I found a queen size, and a twin size! I hate wasting the extra cause my Peacocks Gone Wild finishes about 51" x 70". But if I decide to go ahead and attempt to quilt it, after I find a backing, the batting is here!!!

Sometimes I have an extra quilt top sitting around and use it for backing.
You know the ones, tried new block,or leftover blocks from other quilts.
Put them all together and use them as backing on quilt.
Double sized reversible quilt, just a thought.

I think if I tried that either the front or the back would be extremely crooked!!!
