Had an unplanned trip to town when I needed to rest, oh well. Bought a laptop yesterday and still haven’t opened the box, too tired to deal with it. Anyway, got an emergency prescription for the folks. Picked up a few groceries then few hundred pounds of critter feed. Stopped for a haircut, got lunch, even had time for a short walk in the woods, yellowroot was blooming.

The pup caught another squirrel. He celebrated by tearing up a cardboard box in the yard. Wish I knew where he got the box… At least he brought me the squirrel. I blurred the squirrel in the photo, don’t want folks getting cravings for dumplings... 🤣

Mini-rant... if you're sedentary and over 60, DRINK WATER! Lots of water! Once again mom has a UTI. Could have been dad, he gets 5 or 6 a year. The reason is simple... not enough WATER to even keep their kidneys flushed! Dad should be drinking a gallon a day, 3qts minimum. 2 cups of coffee at breakfast, tea at lunch, small glass of milk at supper, ISN”T enough! Just over a quart a day.

Even worse, at their advanced age… every other health issue they have is exacerbated by dehydration. I see it over and over again with their declining health. They’ve had several er visits, first thing is always an iv for fluids.

...Oct 12, 2022The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is: About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men. About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women. These recommendations cover fluids from water, other beverages and...

Confetti 🎉
FIL has a big water jug with a straw. He is supposed to drink 2 or 3 per day of water. It helps him keep track because he doesn’t drink a glass of water.
My grandma didn’t want to drink water because she had to use the bathroom too much 🙄

Sadly, too many fluids put me in the ER, I am limited to 2 liters a day total.

I want dumplings :p

I am doing an assessment of the damage to sons 2020 Can Am Maverick XRC turbo RR 72"

He met a tree in the worst possible spot for the car, not for him thankfully.

I am pretty sure it will be a total as the frame is cracked in front of the rear upper rails, the trailing arm link mount is ripped off, the rear Shock Therapy built shock is bent and the mount broken as are the sway bar mounts and right side link.

The wheel is bent and the tire is flat.

The Plastic is broken in a lot of places and the

You cannot weld the frames on these things they are thin tubular high tensilesteel and welding outside a controlled cooling situation is a dangerous proposition.

This thing will run 100 mph on the trail if you need a thrill.

He had just started off or I might be doing a funeral instead of a junkyard trip.
Glad to hear that Young Man is OK...!!!

I got some more rest. It rained most of the day. Went to get mail and then to my doctor's appointment. He examined my foot. I told him it looked worse than it was. It doesn't hurt anymore but it is still purple. He checked the blood flow and said to keep an eye on it. Said my ears and throat look good- so the sinus and ear infection have cleared up. He had the girl at the front desk give me a flyer for some cancer screening in Kinder. Still a little tired, but doing OK. I put on some weight-- back up to 208lbs-- but I had just had a lot of water and ate before going in. I need to exercise that off.

Waiting for my friend to get back from his honeymoon to have him see if he can get Mom's new computer working again. It stopped working after less than a week of having it. It boots up and the fans come on but the lights don't. It says ASUSRocks on the monitor so the video card is working, but it won't boot into windows. Mouse and keyboard light up but then nothing happens. Probably going to return it (its within the return window) and get a mini computer instead. There are some minis that are more powerful than this desktop and for less $.

I went to make Mom a burger and realized we were out of hamburger patties so I made a patty myself. I've done it before but don't like to do it and am not as good at it as Mom is. She liked the burger though.

2 liters a day? What happened?

I drink 1/2 a liter to 1 liter per hour. Sometimes more in hot weather.
Low Sodium level. Normal is 135+, Mine was 106. Who knew I could drink too much water:eyeballs:

my gosh it never ends with the problems for daughter's family. So they finally fixed their truck, and went out to eat while test driving it, now son in law has food poisoning most likely going to the hospital.

We had 2 more lambs last night, one more sheep to go.

I was going to finally bake that birthday cake for daughter today, since they were supposed to leave this morning, but it is not looking like they will make it at all now .
Son is causing me stress too, he went to hike up the highpoint of Virginia ( we have been there before) and he really needs to get new tires and have his squeaky belt checked. Phones don't work there either

did clean kitchen yesterday, so today I am going to clean the livingroom

wow, this week sure is not going well, nothing going as planned

12Icemaker, my grandpa retired for Southern back in the late 70s. Mostly worked in John Seiver Yards. I'd bet you know where that is.

WOW, gettin hammered by so many for no bacon pics????? Seriously I was trying hard not to burn it cause it was cooking so fast, I never considered gettin the phone out for pics. I will get one of the flat top before long. It's a 22" model, with a removable folding stand. Mainly got it to take camping. It'll be great for that. Now I just gotta learn to control the heat and cook on it. Much different than grilling. I like though.

Back to work today and more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Making progress though so thats a good thing.
Been there Many times worked all the way from Ebenezer through town to Corryton on the CG line, back by Beverly and through to Straw Plains on the A there.

Then on the A line all the way to MP1 and back to Kentucky Street in Memphis.

Spent a while In the 10 am to 3pm summer sun county around Duffield, Va.

if anybody cares, nationwide facebook outage :p. Meme shortage forecast today.
UH yeah, never been on there, never want to, never even looked at a page, not gonna.

I like people, not electronic companions that profess to see all, tell all and psychoanalyze the world.

I would rather get a cussing and I don't like those either.

Since you were a railroader, you know all about getting a cussin'!

(The most common word used out on the tracks begins with "F"...)

Went to husband's doc appt and to Home Depot. Need to unload my dirt and fix the toilet with the new flapper. Got a spare, too. Little granddaughter is having a sleepover at a classmates house after school. All the girls in her class are going (5 of them). She brought my old boom box with lots of C batteries (amish house, no electricity) and some of my CD's. She is especially loving the Beatles right now. So no sleep for her tonight, and there's school tomorrow, but they don't go in till 10am. She will have a blast, I'm sure. She packed chocolate, too, but hopefully nothing too weird as she's the only english girl.
Couldn't find my cream of soup dry mix recipes, so I went online and wrote out more. Need to make big jars of a beef base, onion base, and chicken base. Don't like what's put in the canned stuff nowadays. Window washing today is doubtful. Ha.

Sounds like fun, but not sure I want to write a resume after decades of employment, and years of retirement :p. Cowan lake is 10 miles from the country house, and a very nice fishing spot.

I don't remember ever seeing my father drink a glass of water. He only drank coffee, beer, whiskey and occasionally a glass of wine for dinner.
