@Amish Heart - I kind of hate the word "adulting" too but it really is a good description. I fell into the category of "slacker" when I was younger, moving in and out and back in and out at home. Mooching off my parents sometimes, although I was never the guy in the basement playing video games all day. But sometimes things are hard, and we have to suck it up. And nobody wants to suck it up anymore.
I think a lot of it is where you're from. Working with people from all over the west half of the country, the rural guys, Midwesterners and Mountain staters, just have a different attitude. The coastal guys and "city guys" seem to have a lot more trouble adjusting to life. And I know they face different challenges than people like me. Their housing is four times what mine costs. But that's not my fault and I feel no responsibility to help them out. They can deal with it or fail.
