Means that you are unable to focus on the big picture because you are distracted by the smaller details.

You can't see the trees for the forest.

Is the converse, you are unable to focus on the details because you are overwhelmed by the big picture.

While both are correct, they are correct under different circumstances.

They are not interchangeable.

Here is my 2 cents.....

Life sucks and then you die
no good deed goes unpunished
nothing is free including death because it costs you your life
