I think there are several varieties of recipes for this. I just googled it. I have never had it nor made it. Have you? It might help you to know whether you had it made with Cheerios or Chex cereal.

This recipe has Cheerios and a cake mix.

https://crockpotladies.com/recipe/crockpot-snowman-poop-cake-mix-puppy-chow/

Ingredients

  1. Place almond bark in a 6 quart slow cooker and melt it on HIGH stirring occasionally. This should take less than 1 hour.
  2. Add in 6 cups of dry Cheerios stirring well coating all cheerios with the melted almond bark.
  3. Next, add in dry cake mix slowly while stirring the cheerios until coated.
  4. Cool on a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper or parchment paper.
  5. Store in a cool place in an airtight container or bag for up to 2 weeks.

Peppermint flavored, made with Rice Chex

https://www.recipelion.com/Christmas-Recipes/Homemade-Holiday-Snowman-Poop-Food-Video

Ingredients
  • 16 ounces white chocolate chips
  • 1 box Funfetti cake mix (dry)
  • 6 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
Instructions
  1. In a large glass bowl, melt white chocolate chips in the microwave. Heat on high power for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Stop the microwave every 30 seconds to stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Do not overcook or the chocolate will burn.

  2. Add peppermint extract to fully-melted chocolate and stir.

  3. Add crushed peppermint to melted chocolate and stir to combine.

  4. Add Rice Chex and stir to evenly coat the cereal with chocolate.

  5. Next, add your dry cake mix in slowly while stirring to coat the cereal evenly.

  6. Cool candy on a baking sheet with wax paper.

This one uses popcorn.

https://tastykitchen.com/recipes/desserts/reindeer-or-snowman-poop/

Ingredients
  • ½ cups Unpopped Popcorn
  • 2 cups White Chocolate Melting Chips Or Milk/semisweet Chocolate Chips
Preparation
Pop popcorn kernels in a hot air popper into a metal bowl. Place bowl of corn in a 200-degree oven to keep corn and bowl hot. This prevents the chocolate from cooling too quickly while stirring.

Melt milk chocolate or semi-sweet (reindeer) or white chocolate melting chips (snowman). Pour over corn and mix VERY WELL. Spread on waxed paper on your counter to cool (DON”T refrigerate).

You can lightly salt this if you want to before it cools. Mmm…

White Trash

This looks like a variation to Chex Mix. I know people who make huge batches of chex mix every year at Christmas.

https://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/alton-browns-white-trash-226723

INGREDIENTS

    • 3 1⁄2cups Cheerios toasted oat cereal
    • 3 cups Rice Chex
    • 3 cups Corn Chex
    • 16 ounces M&M's plain chocolate candy
    • 2 1⁄2 cups salted mixed nuts
    • 2 cups small pretzels
DIRECTIONS
  1. Dump the cereals, M&Ms, nuts & pretzels in a large bowl.
  2. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave or in a double boiler. Melt very slowly, stirring occasionally, being careful not to burn the chocolate.
  3. Dump melted chocolate over the rest of the ingredients and fold over and over until you have well-coated hunks and chunks.
  4. Spread the whole mess out on parchment paper and set in a cool place until it sets up, then break it into pieces.
  5. Store in zip-top bags or air-tight containers.

I don't "get" the " white trash".... what is that in reference to? does anyone know? just curious

I get that white is in reference to the white chocolate but not the trash. Is regular chocolate called brown trash?
